Cairo: The Bayer Group inaugurated a new office building for its employees in Katameya, Cairo. The inauguration ceremony was held on the 15th of May 2014, with the presence of Bayer Regional Management. The new office will accommodate all Bayer subgroups – Bayer CropScience, Bayer HealthCare, and Bayer MaterialScience – and about 150 employees will be based in this new premise.

“With this new office, Bayer underscores its commitment to Egypt” stated Harald Liedtke, Managing Director Bayer Middle East. Liedtkehighlighted the importance and potential of the Egyptian market in the Middle East by stating that Egypt is among the top three countries in the region with Saudi Arabia and UAE. Egypt was also among Bayer’s first presences in the region.

“The Bayer Group recently celebrated its 150th anniversary improving the quality of life for millions of people around the world” said Phil Smits, Bayer HealthCare Representative Middle East. “In line with our mission statement “Science For A Better Life” today’s inauguration of this state-of-the-art office reflects our continuous efforts to provide products and services that meet the local needs”.

Dr. Hatem Safei, General Manager Egypt, mentioned that “20 percent of the Bayer Middle East workforce is based in Egypt”. He added “2014 is a very busy year for Bayer Egypt, besides the move, we will introduce several product innvoations and awareness campaigns, especially in the HealthCare field”.
