Dubai: Two-time former Indian Premier League champions Chennai Super Kings spent a day at the Dubai Autodrome today to experience the Audi R8 V10. The team is in the UAE for the first leg of the Pepsi Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014. To relax and enjoy a well-earned day off, the team took the opportunity to have some driving fun at the wheels of the powerful Audi R8 and Audi TT quattro.

After a brief classroom instruction and under the supervision of qualified Audi driving instructors, the Indian Cricket Superstars descended on the track to check out the sporty spearhead of Audi’s model range. The R8 V10 produces 525 hp and completes the sprint to highway speed in 3.6 seconds with a top speed of 314 km/h.

This week the team scored their biggest ever IPL win, in Abu Dhabi against Delhi Daredevils and also won their game on Wednesday night in Dubai playing Rajasthan Royals.

CSK-Batsman Brendon McCullum loved the experience: “This was awesome. This was my first time on a racetrack – quite some adrenalin rush. This car is just amazing and on a whole different level.”

Stephen Rixon, Assistant Coach of the Chennai Super Kings, was in awe: “I’d rather face a fast bowler, that bowls at 150 miles per hour than take on the might of the Audi R8.”

Based at the Dubai Autodrome since early 2007, the Audi Driving Experience has already allowed thousands to challenge and improve their driving skills. In addition the Audi driving experience offers different courses to suit everyone, including a half-day or full-day Audi R8 driving experience, Audi Sports Car driving experience, Audi Advanced driving experience and the Audi Chauffeur driving experience. Courses can also be tailor-made for team building and corporate events. Gift vouchers are available.
