Clifford A. Brown is a real estate developer with over twenty years of experience in corporate and investment finance and banking, and is Managing Partner of Woodborn Partners, a Michigan-based, full-service development firm with a primary focus on real estate development and development advisory services. In this capacity, he is responsible for new business development, project management, private financing, broker relations, negotiations, planning and sourcing private equity for Woodborn Partners and its affiliate companies.

Offices in both Metro-Detroit and Metro-Washington, D.C. allow Woodborn Partners to operate throughout the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic, and are in the planning stages of a number of projects, including developments in Toledo, OH; Aurora, IL; and Detroit, MI. Notably, Woodborn Partners are currently developing The Scott at Brush Park, a first-of its-kind mixed-use development in Detroit, which upon completion will encompass over 300,000 square feet, including 15,000 square feet of retail space and 199 luxury residential units. Brown’s work on the project includes driving the selection of the Woodward Ave. site, approvals and entitlements; and assisting with project development, planning and financing.

Prior to his work with Woodborn Partners, he served as an analyst supporting a local automotive land development company, providing financial analysis and support of the owner’s hotel, landscaping company and property/project managers for over five million square feet of commercial space locally and nationally. He is a graduate of Ohio State University, having received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a specialization in Finance in 1998, and a Master’s of Business Administration with majors in Corporate & Investment Finance and minors in Real Estate & Marketing Strategy in 2002.

In addition to his role in the real estate community, Brown is active in a variety of charitable organizations; including serving on the board of the Downtown Boxing Gym Youth Program, Metropolitan Church of God Trustee Board and the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Southfield Graduate Chapter. He is an active member of Michigan District Council of the Urban Land Institute, and is a current participant of ULI Michigan’s 2015-2016 Larson Center for Leadership.
