PowWow Mobile, the leading enterprise mobility platform that allows companies to deliver powerful, modern native mobile apps quickly, simply and economically, today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire StarMobile, Inc. The deal will combine two leading companies designated by Gartner as ‘Cool Vendors’ in Mobile App Development to present the most comprehensive enterprise mobility platform, based on the richest IP and patent portfolio, in the industry.

“Welcoming StarMobile into the PowWow family allows us to build upon our strong momentum in enterprise mobility to further accelerate growth,” said Kia Behnia, Chief Executive Officer of PowWow Mobile. “PowWow has amassed an impressive roster of customers and partners, and we are excited about the opportunity to work with StarMobile customers and partners moving forward. The addition of StarMobile solution capabilities will further enhance the PowWow SmartUX™ Platform. No other solution offers such broad capabilities to transform any existing application, or to create new, native apps, for use on any endpoint. Our respective technologies are complimentary, and our combined capabilities will allow all customers to leverage our unified platform to address a broader set of use cases in the future.”

The PowWow Mobile solution is based upon revolutionary technology that is disrupting the speed, complexity and economics commonly associated with delivering productivity enhancing apps to an increasingly mobile-first workforce. The PowWow SmartUX Platform accelerates mobile app development by transforming existing Windows and web applications and workflows into modern mobile experiences or; by creating net new apps that connect to any third-party data source, API or SQL. With PowWow Mobile, users can easily design and deploy personalized, intelligent and secure apps that run anywhere, on any device (PC, laptop, tablet, phone or watch) and any OS (iOS, Android, Windows 10, or HTML5).

“Four years ago, StarMobile started with a vision to enable companies to modernize and mobilize the applications they use to run their business faster, simpler and at a lower cost than any other approach,” said Todd Fryburger, President and Chief Executive Officer of StarMobile. “The company has set the pace for innovation in enterprise mobility ever since our core technology was conceived at the Georgia Tech Networks and Mobile Computing Research Group. We are excited by this combination with PowWow, as it takes that vision to a new level, leverages our respective strengths, and provides customers with a powerful platform to enable them to fulfill the explosive demand for digital transformation.“

The transaction has been unanimously approved by the Boards of Directors of both PowWow Mobile and StarMobile. The deal is expected to close within the next thirty days and is subject to approval by the respective shareholders and other customary closing conditions. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
