The Atlanta Community Food Bank has been awarded the highest rating for sound fiscal management and commitment to accountability and transparency by Charity Navigator, the country's largest and most-utilized independent evaluator of charities.

For five consecutive years, Charity Navigator has awarded the Atlanta Community Food Bank an "exceptional" ranking of four stars out of a possible four, demonstrating adherence to good governance and fiscal responsibility. Only six percent of the charities rated by Charity Navigator have received at least five consecutive, four-star evaluations, indicating that Atlanta Community Food Bank outperforms most other charities in America.

"This exceptional ranking reflects Atlanta Community Food Bank's continuous commitment to financial stewardship and transparency when it comes to charitable contributions and maintaining the public's trust," said Mary Moore, ACFB Board Chair. "This distinction highlights ACFB's hard work in remaining true to its mission to fight hunger by engaging, educating and empowering our community."

Charity Navigator provides essential information that gives donors greater confidence in the charitable choices they support. The designation from Charity Navigator differentiates ACFB from its peers and demonstrates to the public that it is worthy of their trust.

Atlanta Community Food Bank's coveted 4-star rating puts it in a very select group of high-performing charities," according to Michael Thatcher, President & CEO of Charity Navigator. "Out of the thousands of nonprofits Charity Navigator evaluates, only one out of four earns 4 stars -- a rating that demands rigor, responsibility and commitment to openness.  Atlanta Community Food Bank's supporters should feel much more confident that their hard-earned dollars are being used efficiently and responsibly when it acquires such a high rating."
