I'm one of the longest continuously serving stewards as I was elected back in December 2007 (weltweit 300,000 edits and more than 1 mio. logged actions, sysop on some wikis). With my broad experience in handling steward actions, I'm not only dealing with almost all kinds of them (mostly via IRC) but also advise new stewards and help as a contact person between stewards, communities and developers. For that purpose, I created help pages and several reports for the announced Single User Login finalisation, had meetups at last two Wikimanias and on IRC with developers and functionaries involved, helped prepare policies like the Global rename policy, Global renamers page, Usurpation policy, and did many more in this regard. Therefore, I was not amused when we finally started the global renamer elections in order to involve active renamers on metawiki, share knowledge and workload amongst experienced users (even though we take over rename powers from all local bureaucrats), and some of my fellows disturbed them by adding senseless but harmful oppose votes instead of starting a discussion again just because they disagreed with the process and the consensus reached before when they have rarely shown any interest in participating on mailinglists and talk pages. Their actions caused confusion and trouble not only amongst candidates and organisers (see the aftermath here). That's what I do not understand as collegial behavior and worthy of stewards when your fellows work a lot voluntarily on preparing processes and reaching consensus in a short time span and with many people involved.

Well, the elections happened somehow but not thanks to them. For their technical support in cases of SUL finalisation, we instead need to thank my fellow steward Hoo man and the WMF developer Legoktm and for keeping discussions onwiki ongoing the WMF liaison Keegan while I want to personally thank my good friends and fellows Vogone, Ajraddatz and Hoo man for their general support and friendly ear for all of my questions and plans
again
, and anyone who has shown significant interest in keeping SUL finalisation going. Without you, I probably would not have continued my work. But I did finally and after all engaged myself a lot with global renames and am currently the most active one of them, having done more than 500 actions. While we stewards wait for the next tools like account merge (we recently got a Special request page but are still beta-testing), I notified hundreds of users on all Wikimedia projects that their accounts are not yet unified or do clash with others and provided help, did thousands of usurpations following the Usurpation policy in order to reduce the amount of clashing accounts and workload for all of us when SUL finalisation will happen (see crossactivity as long as rightstool doesn't work), etc. By doing this and during bug testing before deployment, I found a couple of bugs esp. in CentralAuth and Renameuser tools, most of them are already fixed thanks to those people mentioned above, few of them are currently blocking the progress of SUL finalisation but I'm confident that we can go on very soon, I will continue notifying people and keep my local community updated.

Beside my intensive and time-consuming work for making SUL finalisation finally happen (waiting for it since 2008), I occupied myself with CheckUser activities mostly on loginwiki (in what I was not as experienced as in Oversight rights that I hold on metawiki and which were one my main steward activities before besides crosswiki antivandalism stuff) and closed a difficult crosswiki CheckUser case in collaboration with German, French and English CheckUsers in early 2014. Unfortunately, this troll continued his actions which caused in several follow-up requests on loginwiki which explains my high stats there. Besides, a couple of German administrators requested a removal of their sysop rights on my user talk page and I granted this request according to our policy which caused a couple of uncontroversial steward actions on one of my homewikis. Last year, some fellows were unhappy about my German-only statements on the steward candidates which they considered to be too much influencing the voters' behavior due to my position while my intention was to invite people on dealing with the candidates themselves and participate in the elections at all. And while I do think that stewards too should be allowed to raise their opinion when- and wherever they want, I do see the point that notifying the candidates on these comments would have been fairer. I will abstain from doing this again and will refrain from commenting elections at all. That's even more useful as I became a member of the steward election committee again (a job I did in the last couple of years too). All in all, I'd be happy to serve the community and my fellows with my experience for the next term, especially for the crunch mode of SUL finalisation and the expectable busy aftermath. Thank you!
