Know The Pattern Of The Examination:
To prepare for a competitive exam, it is very necessary to know about the patterns of that particular exam, this will make sure that you don’t miss any of the topics.
Know, Where Do You Stand:
Sometimes while preparing and covering all the topics some aspirants fail to do this first step, thus the scope of improvement in already covered topic is ignored. The challenge for the aspirants is the pressure of time, as one has to answer 250 questions in 150 minutes, which means you only have 36 seconds for each question. So, before a final revision it is compulsory to know that how much you know and much is left so that you don’t waste a single moment during the exam.
Keep Practicing:
The saying “Practice makes a man perfect” is definitely a perfect saying for the students who are preparing for IBPS. The more time you will spend on practicing, the better will be the efficiency in the examination. First of all you need to be aware of the bank exam syllabus in detail.
In IBPS-PO there are five core sections, namely reasoning, mathematics, English, general awareness and computer awareness. It's a test to check your efficient time management skills.
Reasoning: The reasoning section is one of the most crucial sections in banking or any other exam. In PO, they usually test analytical & logical reasoning skills of the candidate. It is almost and always verbal.
Books: Analytical Reasoning & Logical Reasoning by Piyush Bhardwaj(Arihant Publications); Logical Reasoning by Arun Sharma.
Mathematics: They test the calculative skills of the candidate through this section.
Data interpretation & data sufficiency comprises around 40%-50%(be ready for surprises, IBPS is very unpredictable, or at least has become so from 2015) of the maths syllabus and rest is normal quantitative aptitude.
Books: 'Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency by Ananta Ashisha' & 'Quantum CAT by Sarvesh K. Verma'(both from Arihant Publications); Data Interpretation by Arun Sharma.
English: Read the good stuff as much as you can. Strengthen your vocabulary and perfect your grammar. Get your hands on writing as well.
Books: High School Grammar by Wren & Martin(S. Chand Publications); General Objective English by R.S. Agarwal.
General Awareness: IBPS tests your banking, financial and marketing knowledge in addition to current affairs and very little(hardly 2-3 questions) static general knowledge as well.
Books: Well, there's no specific book for this section, but you can go for Banking Awareness from Arihant Publications and you can get various Capsule type stuff from Merit mock - IBPS PO, SBI, RRB & do subscribe to Mint newspaper.
Computer Awareness: Lucent's Computer and Capsules from Merit mock - IBPS PO, SBI, RRB & random stuff on Internet.
