Release Notes:

01. Jon Hopkins - We Disappear feat. Lulu James [Domino Records | RUG595T]

Today, Jon Hopkins shares “We Disappear feat. Lulu James,” a collaborative reworking of the opening track from the Mercury-nominated Immunity. Listen to it below. The title track will be available backed with a remix by Moderat digitally and on 12” vinyl on June 30. The title track is available to purchase digitally now.

This is the second collaboration on an Immunity single, following up “Breathe This Air feat. Purity Ring.” A fan of Hopkins’ work, and known for her beautifully emotive, atmospheric vocals, it seemed right for rising star Lulu James to contribute vocals to “We Disappear.” The pair met when performing at Unknown Festival in Croatia, then soon after put down vocals at Hopkins' London studio. Hopkins then built a new version of the track around James' contributions, and the result is much sparser, and almost Lynchian - darkly atmospheric, pulsing and retaining the urgency of the original, but adding new depth with James' stunningly soulful vocal performance.

Since the release of Immunity, Jon Hopkins has taken his live show around all corners of the globe and played some of his biggest shows to date. This summer, Hopkins will return to North America for several headline shows and festival performances including Pitchfork Music Festival and Osheaga.

02. Daniel Avery - New Energy (Beyond The Wizard's Sleeve Re-animation) [Phantasy Sound | PH36]
05. Daniel Avery - Knowing We'll Be Here (KiNK Remix) [Phantasy Sound | PH36]

Phantasy release Knowing We’ll Be Here, the dream-like closing track from Daniel Avery's hugely acclaimed Drone Logic album backed with two big remixes. First up, KiNK applies his ever-masterful touch to the track in hand for a wholly euphoric house embrace whilst label boss Erol Alkan resurrects Beyond The Wizard's Sleeve, his neu-pysche collaboration with Richard Norris, to push New Energy fully into the realm of the third mind with a very special re-animation.

03. The Field - No. No... (John Tejada Mix) [Kompakt | Kompakt Digital 042]

Last year was brimming with serious label highlights, but if we were forced to pick one, we might go with THE FIELD's much-celebrated CUPID'S HEAD (KOMPAKT 290), a crowning achievement for a producer whose track record already boasts an impressive quantity of masterly crafted full-lengths. With CUPID'S HEAD REMIXE, we collect all the exclusive material from the limited 12" vinyl remix series and make it available digitally for the very first time.

CUPID'S HEAD REMIXE includes enticing free-from contributions from leftfield luminaries such as VATICAN SHADOW, BARKER & BAUMECKER, or TIM HECKER, as well as serious floor waxings from sonic pundits like JOHN TEJADA, SONNS and TM404. This diverse selection of fellow electronic artists is framed by a set of beautifully textured GAS revamps, marking the surprising return of one of Kompakt co-founder WOLFGANG VOIGT's most iconic monickers.

[Vinyl Release]

Last year was brimming with serious label highlights, but if we were forced to pick one, we might go with THE FIELD's much-celebrated CUPID'S HEAD (KOMPAKT 290), a crowning achievement for a producer whose track record already boasts an impressive quantity of masterly crafted full-lengths. With CUPID'S HEAD REMIXE II, we cap off a series of remixes on limited 12" vinyl with contributions from sonic pundits JOHN TEJADA, TIM HECKER and TM404 - again a diverse, yet tremendously becoming selection of fellow artists from all corners of the electronic universe.

The first rework to grace CUPID'S HEAD REMIXE II comes from none other than JOHN TEJADA, acclaimed puppet master and modular studio wizard. After hitting the shelves with WE CAN PRETEND (KOMPAKT 286) earlier this year, the LA-based producer continues his victory lap on contemporary dance floors with a deeply affecting take on album centerpiece NO. NO..., surrounding the somewhat desolate vocal samples with heartwarming synth washes and melodic momentum. What felt like a lonely soul looking for love on a deserted plain now finds itself walking down a brightly lit hallway, indulging in the sweeter moments of the melancholic spectrum - it's a staggeringly graceful track made to animate and mesmerize.

The second rework comes from highly acclaimed sound sculptor TIM HECKER, whose most recent album "Virgins" ranked among the very best of last year's full-length offerings. At first sight, his mix seems to stick the closest to NO. NO...'s original ambience, but as always with the Canadian producer the devil is in the details: subtle tweaks and discreet sabotaging pave the way for epic drones and iridescent textures. For the final cut of CUPID'S HEAD REMIXE II, established Swedish beatsmith Andreas Tilliander brilliantly showcases his latest monicker TM404 with a slightly uncanny take on THE FIELD's monolithic looping, losing himself amidst frazzling acid bubbles and a deliberately stoic rhythm pattern.

04. Remain - Filthy Stitches Ft Monoblok (Click Box Remix) [My Favorite Robot Records | Promo]

There is no stopping the Canadian powerhouse that is My Favorite Robot in 2014, and here they serve up the goods once more in the form of a fantastic new EP from Remain who returns to the label for his second outing. Remixes come from Clickbox and Carreno is LB & Javi Redondo and bolster an already great package.

Frenchman Remain is the co founder of Meant Records and has also released his idiosyncratic electronic wares on labels like Throne of Blood, Ideal Audio and My Favorite Robot Records. His ultramodern vision of house music and beyond has made him an international favourite as well as a staple on the French scene at clubs like Rex, Zig Zag and Showcase.

Opening up this sterling EP is ‘Bounty Hunting’; a stripped back cut with stern no frills drums, stark synth melodies and plenty of abstract minimal lines. Dark, foreboding and barely decipherable vocals add to the apocalyptic vibe and make for truly tense and involved listening. Then ‘Bounty Hunting’ gets remade by Carreno is LB & Javi Redondo into a whirring, malfunctioning affair that sounds like a robot disco in the sky.

Remain then turns in ‘Filthy Stitches’ ft Monoblok, a sinewy, metallic affair with tight synth lines stretched over rubbery drums. Said synths swerve and twist about for the duration, with intergalactic melodies and robo vocals eventually bleeding in, but it’s a firmly taught and tense vibe from start to finish. The remix is by Brazilian duo and Items & Things associates Click Box, who transform the original into a loose, writhing cut of synthetic house with plenty of alien details and gurgling synth lines.

This is evocatively futuristic music with plenty of inventive textures and tones all working together to make for a fascinating listen that also makes you move.

06. Michel De Hey & Rauwkost - Julienzzz [Bedrock Records | Beddigi50]

This collaboration between one of Hollands most influential techno DJ/producers - Michel de Hey - and Amsterdams highly original Rauwkost, is an incredibly exciting meeting of creative minds. The end results - Julienzzz flying high on a deep throbbing techno backbone overlaid with hypnotic melody flourishes, and the counterbalancing Gibsome taking on a more laidback, deeply groovy warmness and heartfelt, soulful, spiritual vibe - are nothing short of extraordinarily superb.

The creator of some of the freshest sounds in techno music in recent years, fellow Dutchman, Ramon Tapia, is also on fire here. For his remix of Julienzzz, a teasing percussive intro leads into a monstrous, infectious, booming groove that is sure to cause chaos all summer long. Italy is also strongly represented here by the super-hot production duo - Paolo Martini & Paul C, who never fail to impress. Their catchy and bouncy techno remix style rides high on a rhythm that has the groove and swing factor turned up to the max.

If you like what you hear here, then dont miss Ramon Tapias next monster release, also coming on Bedrock on June 23rd, in the form of a collaborative project with Stavroz, called Havana.

07. DJ Hal - De Bellota (Out Of The Fire EP) [Advanced Records | ADV045]

The inimitable Advanced Records label has been releasing characterful electronic music since 1998, is a favourite with the likes of Dave Clarke and Laurent Garnier and now, following something of a hiatus, re-launches with a fantastic EP from tech house titan DJ Hal.

Hal has been doing his do for a decade now, releasing and remixing for Get Physical, Intec and Fierce Animal in San Fran. He says of the EP… “Following a six month production break, this is a mini comeback release. I am a Phoenix rising from the flames and am inspired by the sounds that move my soul and souls that influence my sound.”

The suitably named first track is a kinetic, rubbery, malleable beat brew with blurting synths and emotive melodies that is a truly unique proposition. Exquisitely produced, it is a standout opening track that will set a fine mood on any dancefloor.

‘De Bellota’ (named after the finest Spanish ham) is a gurgling, funk laced deep house track with bendy, lazy and shape shifting chords that really add plenty of colour and charm. It’s a subtle dancefloor filler that is followed by the much more lumpy, ramshackle beats of ‘Home Town Hero.’ This one is an inventive, off kilter jam with synths riding up and down the mix, pan-pot style percussion and an itchy sense of inertia that really sweeps you up.

Lastly, ‘Mork Calling Orsen’ is a filmic affair that sounds like the start of some spaceship battle deep in the outer cosmos. Urgent, slapping drums and hi hats race along next to a tightly wound synth lead and plenty of abstract sounds help pepper the airwaves with an uneasy sense of atmosphere.

All four tracks here demonstrate a different side to the DJ Hal sound and mark an excellent comeback for both producer and label alike.

08. Eagles & Butterflies - Hypernova (Underground Sound of Ibiza) [Bedrock Records | Bedibizacd1]
09. Richie G - Puzzle Love Bedrock (Underground Sound of Ibiza) [Bedrock Records | Bedibizacd1]

After the highly successful Miami releases and with all three CD's of the series completely selling out, Bedrock are extremely proud to present their first ever Underground Sound of Ibiza album release.

The double CD features a poolside/daytime vibe on one disc full of laid back balearic beats perfect for those summer days featuring exclusive new music from the likes of Pig&Dan, Charlie May and King Unique alongside some special new versions and takes on some of our recent releases from The Japanese Popstars, Jimmy Van M and Oniris and of course the ambient version of Jemmy's "Waterloo Blues" which caused a huge stir when it was broadcast from the Transitions 500 Miami boat party.

The second disc takes a more uptempo clubbier / night time journey and takes in 10 exclusive new tracks from the likes of Marco Bailey, Sasha Carassi, Misstress Barbara and Marc Marzenit amongst others, there is also a bonus remix of the classic Guy J single 'Lamur' which has been remixed by Sebastien Léger.

"We're really happy with how this album came together and I'm very proud of the downtempo disc as I think musically it's one of the best we've done so far on the label" [John Digweed]
