01. Nathan Cable - Get Up [Bedrock Records | Beddigi49]

Forthcoming on the Live In Miami release and also on a package incl. a Just Be Remix.

Nathan Cable's first ventures into the world of music were as the vocalist of live techno TEN, an outfit that performed their first gigs at John Digweed's original Bedrock parties.

As one half of production team Tenth-Chapter he wrote records for William Orbit's cult label Guerilla Records which became one of the main players in the first wave of the UK Progressive sound and scene. Tenth-Chapter also went on to release on Sasha & Digweed's championed label Jackpot Records and toured as a live act.

Rolling back the years Nathan returns to Bedrock with his solo production Get Up. This huge bass-laden, broken-beat beast stomps on us from the first kick drum to the last. On the remix is Matthew Bushwacka!, under his Just Be alias. Absorbing the summer vibes from his current Ibiza base is proving to be a secret ingredient for the English producer who is turning out a constant stream of solid gold releases and remixes. Taking it back to the 4/4, Just Be reworks Get Up into a heads-down driver thats crying out for the summers dance-floors.

02. Igor Vicente - The Horse (The Knight EP) [Hot Creations | HOTC046]

Hot Creations are back with another killer release, this time at the hands Igor Vicente who previously released on the label back in 2011 with the brilliant 'Breathe N Pop' as part of the duo Ultrasone. With the Ultrasone project at an end, Igor this time flies solo for the label, delivering two standout originals with intoxicating bass-lines and dark whispered vocals, creating endless energy of swing and groove to really work the crowd at peak time. Hot Creations boss Jamie Jones also delivers an on point remix of 'The Knight' with his 'Electric Jones Remix' adding new synth melodies and wonky FX, keeping high energy for dance-floor domination.

Originally from Belgium, Igor Vicente holds residencies in the finest clubs of Belgium, Café d'Anvers and Fuse. At Fuse he runs his new night State Of Flow and tours regularly around the world playing at the best parties and clubs.

As part of the duo Ultrasone, Igor Vicente released on labels such as Hot Creations, Visionquest and Supplement Facts with remixes on the likes of Saved and Get Physical. With his solo project he's remixed Archie Hamilton and Patrick Meiner on Genial and Alejandro Vivanco on Sound Architecture. Now part of the Mobilee Agency he´s also recently dropped a stellar EP on the label.

Moving from strength to strength with the insanely popular Hot Creations imprint, gets set to release the an amazing new artist album this summer from firm favourites Digitaria.

03. Century - Luv Crime [Cøbra Voyage | CVMR005]

Mexico City dark boogie duo Century are back with their second EP Luv Crime, due soon via Cøbra Voyage.

Mexico’s CVMR returns this May with the ‘Luv Crime’ EP from Century, backed with a remix from Swayzak.

Mexican duo Century aka Susan Luv and Emili are one of the production duos behind the CVMR imprint, and here they deliver their contemporary house sound for the fifth release on their fledgling imprint. Century’s live performances see the pair blend drum machines and synthesisers, with live editing and sampling, adding a unique appeal to the artists and landing them slots alongside the likes of Aeroplane, Mock & Toof, Daniel Solar, Tiger & Woods, Ewan Pearson, a recent appearance on Boiler Room (Century - BOILER ROOM), and a booking at Iceland’s Secret Solstice Festival playing alongside Masssive Attack and Damian Lazarus to name but a few.

The original mix of title track ‘Luv Crime’ kicks things off, a smooth, ethereal cut led by deep atmospherics, rugged low-slung rhythms and hypnotic acid tinges, while a menacing, stabbing bass hook insistently drives the groove, and swirling dub echoes subtly add a intense background depth to the composition.

Swayzak steps up afterwards to rework ‘Luv Crime’, a great choice from CVMR considering the raw, dubbed out feel of the original, Swayzak do what they do best here and deliver a tripped-out ten minute reshape where the composition cleverly evolves and retracts on itself throughout, with profound processing keeping it in an ever dynamic state, stunning stuff as expected from such proficient producers.

The package is then rounded off with another original from Century, entitled ‘Closer’, this time delving a little deeper with the sound palette, the pair fuse cosseting pads and stuttering arpeggio bass with crunchy drum samples and heavily delayed and reverberated vocal licks to create a psychedelic, dropped-tempo number, closing the EP in style.

Century’s ‘Luv Crime’ EP is out on CVMR 24th May 2014.

05. Timo Maas & Santos - Z Panorama (My Favorite Robot Remix) (Watching The Robots EP) [My Favorite Robot Records | MFR101]

Just ahead of the release of his excellent Crossing Wires compilation, Timo Maas’s relationship with the My Favorite Robot label continues to flourish with this new EP. Offering two new and exclusive cuts from said forthcoming compilation – plus another special remix from My Favorite Robot – it is pure techno excellence.

Timo Maas is of course an enduring techno icon famed for his eclectic sound and always compelling EPs and LPs. The most recent of those came late last year and featured high profile collaborations with the likes of James Lavelle, Mikill Pane and Placebo’s Brian Molko, whilst throughout his career he has released on labels including Cocoon and Perfecto as well as running his own Rockets & Ponies outlet.

First comes ‘Watching the Robots’, a meandering bit of deep and mid tempo techno with a fat, dystopian synth line that spreads across the whole horizon of the track like a search light. Subtly fizzing electronics and imposing melodic drones circle to add even more sci-fi ambiance and it makes for a pleasingly otherworldly listen.

On the flip is ‘Z Panorama’, an equally bleak vision of the future with a droning synth line falling down the scale and sucking you right in as a result. The slick beats roll on below and sad piano notes linger long in the air, all the while conjuring filmic intergalactic imagery in the listener’s mind. The My Favorite Robot trio quicken the tempo on their remix, layering in a light dusting of dancing hi hats and miniature melodic explosions that colour the night sky in some style. A molten acid line also creeps in to complete the perfectly future facing and expansive sonic picture.

These tracks are at the very heart of the forthcoming compilation and prove Timo, decades after first announcing his arrival with that remix of Azzido Da Bass, is as pioneering and essential as ever.

06. Anja Schneider - Revolution (Dubmission EP) [Mobilee Records | MOBILEE130]

The longstanding queen of techno is back and she returns with insight into times that many of todays EDM listeners were still in diapers. Anja Schneider and her Mobilee label are best known for transcending the now and incorporating retro stylings into the current production, truly paying homage to specific fundamental individuals and periods. Mobilee 130 is the quintessential homage release featuring 3 original tracks, each of which depict significant influential periods in the development of style.

Named after the weekly Dubmission parties at the storied E-Werks nightclub, the latest release from Anja Schneider relays the sounds of her earliest musical experiences in 1990s Berlin, where DJs like Kid Paul powered the party, and amplifies the techno spirit of the old electrical substation for broadcast worldwide.

Further transmissions are detected within the bubbling techno of Revolution, inspired by the political upheaval throughout the world, as well as shifts within the dance music scene itself, and on Can You Feel It, which features a spoken word dispatch by vocalist Parsifal Marin of Brussels Pony Club that continues the long house music tradition of club tunes about rave experiences.

The release also features an instrumental version of Can You Feel It, the original is definitely a Tuff favorite on the EP, but we’re sure this gem will be a set secret weapon for many a deejay to toss in with some with cagey vocals for pure groove.

No bullshit buying Beatport rankings here like some of those mainstream producers. This is the real deal and thanks to Anja’s hard work for we know every release will get the proper attention it deserves. We suggest you buy all of mobilee’s release on Beatport and keep the underground thriving. Stay Tuff!

07. Fur Coat - The Right Move feat. JAW [Bpitch Control | Promo]

Limited advance release info.

Fur Coat´s beautiful, upcoming EP "The Right Move" will be out on BPitch end of May.

08. Rina Mushonga - Eastern Highlands (Joris Voorn Extended Remix) [Green | GR16]

Eastern Highlands' is a refreshing EP mixed by Joris Voorn on Green. Joris had a special connection with the original so approached Rina to do the remix. Joris has stayed true to the original with the remix for the open minded DJ. The EP is far-eastern inspired with a distinguished edge reinforced by the contrast between the vibrancy of the instruments with the dark echo quality of the vocalist, Rina Mushonga. The variety of instrumental patterns used, coerce to create a carefully crafted EP defined by cultural influences. The use of echoed vocals create a repetitive, layered effect, which compliment the deep sound of the guitar. Joris establishes an interesting take on this track by introducing an experimental development to the extended mix.
