01. Crazy P - Beatbox (Burnski Remix) [2020 Vision Recordings | VIS233]
This album features the last of the remixes from 'when we on'. This album also features the tracks from CRAZYP010. These three remixes were the exclusive new mixes on the recent digital only remix album, but it’s only fair that remixes of this quality come out on wax.
Burnski personally requested the parts to Beatbox to make a mix for his own sets, but once we heard it we knew it had to find a wider audience. Burnski really knows his way around real musical parts, and has kept the vibe of the original intact but has made it his own in his superb deep house style.
Bonar Bradberry is one half of PBR Streetgang and good mates with Crazy P, his mix was a staple in Ibiza last season at the PBR residency at Space, and from a few other lucky DJ’s.
Finally Wolf & Lamb have always been supporters of Crazy P and repay the favour of remix with a beautiful chilled version of Wecanonlybewhoweare that features some slinky guitar licks from Slow hands.

"Harking back to tracks from their 2011 LP When We On, 20:20 Vision place perennial nu-disco heads Crazy P on the operating table with a host of remixers hovering, scalpel in hand. Burnski is up first, tackling "Beatbox" with a measured deep house cut that nods to the Hot Creations brand of basslines, but also works some powerful strings into the background to add an emotive edge. Bonar Bradberry is on equal form when he takes on "Wecanonlybewhoweare", running off a similar kind of pristine bottom end synth and letting the drums roll insistently while licks of Danielle Moore's vocal come drifting in and out of the mix. It's Soul Clap who switch things with a little help from Slow Hands, opting for a slow, pensive ballad version of "Eruption" that calls to mind Hall & Oates-style R&B constructions."
Bio (Crazy P)
To trace the origins of Crazy P we have to go all the way back to 1996. This was the year that brought together James Baron and Chris Todd. It was the era of Ataris, Akais and bedroom studios and, through their love of bending and reshaping old records from many different genres, a production partnership was born in the backstreets of Nottingham. After a couple of releases under various different monikers, the work attracted the ears of legendary deep house label Pape Recordings based in Manchester and the creature that is Crazy P was born.
Danielle Moore was located crooning her way round a house party in Manchester and given a microphone instead of a glass of wine. Tim Davies, having worked with Jim and Chris previously on CP tracks, broke from the shackles of the photo lab to play bass guitar, and finally Matt Klose, who had also worked with the boys before, was given the task of out-drumming the drum machine.

In a day and age where the definition of ‘house’ is constantly being re-conceptualised, a new breed of young-blood producers step forward bringing with them a deep and groove-laden sound building on classic timbers. At the forefront we find Burnski. Deftly abridging vintage Detroit and Chicago, always infused with the unmistakeable Burnski charm, he is moving dancefloors all over the world. Leading the pack of prodigiously talented UK producers, the now Berlin based producer is only in his mid-twenties and at the top of his game.
Burnski adds to his already impressive repertoire, which includes Real Tone, Culprit, Hot creations, Poker Flat, 2020 Vision, Soma Records and Tsuba. Expect Burnski’s output of slick and on point productions finding their way into the catalogues of some of today’s most noted labels, along with a string of remixes for high-profile artists that include Maya Jane Coles, Crazy P and Subb-an.
02. Laura Jones - Lose Myself (Sensoramic EP) [Visionquest | VQ023]
Laura Jones has had a breakthrough 2012. Fulfilling touring dreams and winning the hearts of the global scene with her sensual melodic house and seductive, driving DJ sets, it may come as a surprise that Let Me In is Laura's first, albeit highly anticipated, solo EP.
A protégé under the Visionquest banner and nurtured under the wings of Leftroom, Laura Jones exploded into the public consciousness in 2011 with her deep and intrinsically melodic vision of house. Her Live A Little track was included on the Visionquest Spring Club Collection sampler, and her breakthrough single Love In Me stormed the Beatport chart and held the no.1 spot for several consecutive weeks the second time courtesy of stellar remixes from Maceo Plex, Kate Simko and Eats Everything. Later came a joint EP on Crosstown Rebels and an immaculate mix for the Leftroom presents series. Now with this timeless 4- tracker on the mighty Visionquest, the diminutive producer is destined for an even bigger 2013.
Dropping on Visionquest, Let Me In develops Laura's signature sound, painting a fuller picture of the artist through deeper techno shades, live vocals and trademark hypnotic style. Title track Let Me In could be Laura's most beautiful and textured yet. A first foray into vocals (a feature bound to build and develop over time) the whispery undulating layers of Let Me In weave in and out of shimmering synth waves and ghostly melodic chimes while the Dub Rework delves deeper and darker with a tight and punchy groove.
On the flip, Lose Myself is another emotive builder, the spacious, raw groove filled with dubby textures and tingly FX giving way to lush pads that float through the echoing vox as drama builds with a melodic bounce to work the floor.
Final track Every Thought kicks off with reverberating rubbery bass and shakers, while a gothic-esque framework develops with evolving synth lines and filtered bleeps.

03. Clarian & Guy Gerber - Claire (Chemical Gardens EP) [Visionquest | VQ024]
Steadily mining gold in an ever-evolving electronic landscape, the Visionquest imprint gets set to unleash an incredibly special 6-track EP from Clarian - one half of the supreme duo Footprintz.
Collaborating with the always-innovative Guy Gerber on the opener, Clarian voyages solo throughout the rest of the EP a collective of Chemical Gardens for a sonically re-imagined Blade Runner kingdom. Beach Boys oohs on top of Camino 808 lines with Morriconne style piano licks over a zombie meets deep house track - the Chemical Gardens EP is a patchwork of cross-genres and moods.
The A-side covers ethereal sunrise magic and cosmic oddities opening with Claire featuring Guy Gerber - an emotive beauty in which dubby beats dissolve into a motif of synth stabs, sweet electronic melodies and rising waves of filtered vox. Destroy, She Says is a haunting dream of hypnotic keys and heavy drums while Renaissance is simply a magical set closer that alludes to an innocent era of rave.
Taking the listener deeper into the night Remove Control kicks off the B-side with a jagged electronic bass-line tight snares and shakers and a powerful vocal while Through Your Mind feat. J drops a heavy dose of acid with a mechanical sleazy vibe. Closing track U is all about the build against the naked drum groove, moody bass synths and echoing vox.
Clarian's chemical gardens and Visionquest are clearly meant to be and these shimmering towers of sound are likely to remain a highlight of the imprints illustrious cannon. A truly innovative and groundbreaking release, that further cements Clarian's standing as an incredible talent.

We first heard Foals’ raucous single “My Number” when they debuted it on Jools Holland. This Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs remix takes the song from house party to warehouse rave, brightening the track up into a muted house rendition of the original — almost unrecognisable until the hook comes in halfway through.

The Last Night On Earth name is spreading like wildfire, due to some hugely successful releases that have garnered worldwide acclaim. The newest release from Last Night On Earth brings together a popular pairing - known for their collaborations and combined remixes, studio partners Inxec Vs Droog present their ‘Wide Open’ EP on 25th February.
In their own right, this duo make up two very well established names in the house and techno community... UK born Inxec comes straight out of the Nottingham club scene and along with close friend Matt Tolfrey, has an impressive roster of releases on high class labels under his belt. Fresh from his US-Mexican tour with with label mate Kiki, Chaim is back with a new digital EP 'Ur Around Me' on BPitch Control. Known for being an enigmatic DJ and producer, Chaim has always succeeded in showcasing club-focused music in all its shapes and forms and this record in certainly no exception to the rule. Featuring three tracks that fuse solid basslines and heavy grooves the original version of 'Ur Around Me' is sexy summer jam with an infectious vocal hook. A collaboration with Canadian trio My Favorite Robot sees the original being slowed down and turned into a deep remix with a relaxed sultry vibe. The last track 'En Milim' features vocal samples from Electric J and is a hands-in-the-air peaktime floor filler full of dirty beats and hypnotic vocal snippets.

09. Nicco - It's Over (Oxia Remix) [Recline Music | REC010]
This Recline Music release opens with Nicco .'s original version of 'It's Over', teaming up with Australian vocalist Carrol to deliver a dropped tempo house cut, infused with bright melodic intricacies, a hooky bass-line and infectiously catchy vocal licks that softly meander around the weighty groove.
Suara and Tsuba artist, Oxia steps up on remix duties next, edging the record into a shuffling house state with raw, swung drums, a sub-driven, garage-tinged bass hook and dubbed-out synth lines. The French producer heavily manipulates minute vocal chops with elongated delays and drawn out reverbs instilling a trippy edge, as expected this is serious peak-time business with dark atmospherics.
Next up is Memoryman aka Uovo's rework of 'It's Over', better known as Cristiano Rinaldi and as a member of the Pastaboys trio. Rinaldi creates an ethereal, melodic vibe here with bubbling earthy percussion, rolling organ hits and ever evolving synth lines, running alongside crunchy distorted drums. This is a tasteful and intelligent approach from Rinaldi and beautifully contrasting against the preceding tracks.
To close the release Recline enlist the services of another remix artist, this time Timid Boy aka Damien Almira, notably know for his Escapism, Dame and Baracca Music associations. Almira puts a deep spin on the original number with warm chords, delayed vocal snippets and a cosseting sub-bass that brilliantly flutters around the drums. Subtle filter licks and reverb bursts add a further depth and impact to the structure, resulting in a perfect early-hours cut.

11. Dusky - What I Never Knew (Nobody Else EP) [Aus Music | AUS135]
Following up their Henry 85 12" on Aus sister-label, Simple, in mid-2012, Dusky re-emerge with another four-track EP, marking their first release of the new year. Having only broken onto the scene in late 2011 with their debut album, Stick By This, the profile of dynamic duo Alfie Granger-Howell and Nick Harriman has continued to rise considerably through a series of strong EPs and remixes for artists including Justin Martin and Hot Chip.
Their distinctive brand of off-kilter and purposefully cross-pollinated house-garage-techno has been championed by everyone from Seth Troxler to Loefah to Pete Tong to Paul Woolford. On AUS1345, the pair demonstrate exactly why they have garnered such widespread support. Their masterful weaving of subtle, slow rising vocal clips with penetrating bass-lines and scattered percussion can be approached, adapted and appreciated by any danc-efloor.

12. Oliver Huntemann & Dubfire - Aire (Elements Series III EP) [Ideal Audio | IDEAL026-6]
Today we once again celebrate the coming together of two of Techno's most legendary and respected figures for the next instalment of their much lauded Elements Series. Oliver Huntemann and Dubfire first joined forces on the mighty '08 Cocoon release 'Diablo', a track that was followed by their '09 smash and first ever release for Oliver's Ideal Audio imprint, 'Dios'. The tracks were instant hits and buoyed by the response, the pair made a pact to return to the studio as often as their hectic touring schedules would allow and in 2010 they launched the Elements Series with Fuego.
"I really enjoy working with Ali [Dubfire]. It seems we both have a similar point of view and vibe when creating music. Ali is very open-minded and focused on certain things when it comes to producing music and in that we are the same" - Oliver Huntemann 2011 saw the release of Elements Series II and the excellent 'Terra', a track that went on to blur the genre boundaries, finding support from a wide variety of DJs and becoming one of the year's most popular releases. Whilst 'Fuego's' power was encapsulated in its devastating breakdown, 'Terra' dominated through its heavy, locked-tight and hypnotising groove. Today Huntemann & Dubfire return to present Elements Series III and kick start Ideal Audio's 5th birthday celebrations with their new collaboration 'Aire'.
As the series name alludes, 'Aire' is a track that harnesses elements from the previous brace of tracks and brings them together whilst adding a fresh touch of flair. A minimal yet strong drum pattern grooves throughout with a hollow echoing ringing out. This strong spine then plays host to the shrill and cascading fx that are set to cause magical moments on the floor.
Ireland's Matador takes on the remix task, delivering two contrasting new versions. His beautifully deep Dub Mix is an understated, smooth and wondrous excursion while his Main Mix throws down its earth-moving kick drum throughout as he allows the original atmospherics and fx to playfully pierce the production.

13. Lana Del Ray - Ride (Lyla's Surprise) (James Lavelle Remix) [Interscope Records | B00A4A2Z90]
'Ride is taken from American singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey's third EP Paradise (2012). The song served as the reissue's first single through Interscope Records, Polydor Records, and Universal Music. Co-written by 'Video Games' author Justin Parker, 'Ride' is a pop ballad that thematically involves parental problems, alcohol consumption, and loneliness.
The remix package kicks up a real opus from UNKLE's James Lavelle, ably assisted by the uncredited Charlie May of Spooky. Charlie May also engineered, programmed and provided the keyboards.
Made in 2 days under a tight record label deadline. Taking the vocal/chord progression, and pushing the tempo from 99bpm to 122 bpm to bring the track to the dance-floor, May started by processing the Del Rey's voice - cutting the phrasing instead of time-stretching the distinctive vocal, adding outboard effects before adding strings and synths - with the arpeggios and delays coming from a mini-moog processed in analogue. Although Lavelle helping with the editing and creative process, this on is brimming with May's alchemy.

14. Dominik Eulberg - Opel Tantra (Backslash EP) [Herzblut Recordings | HERZ 30-6]
Dominik Eulberg, of Traumschallplatten, Cocoon and Kompakt notoriety, presents the next installment of the Hertzblut Recordings EP series in the form of ‘Backslash’. The two track release instantly conveys Eulberg’s unique living organism aesthetic, a more than welcome offering for fans who have felt his amount of original output slow down over recent years.
‘Backslash’ opens with ‘Opel Tantra’, a delectable example of a living, breathing techno orchestra in full effect. Here, a classic kick drum meets rejoicing, iridescent strings that sing and swell in the fore until a funky bass riff takes the entire score straight into dance floor territory. B-side ‘Noch Ein Bass im Ärmel’ sees plucked strings and key stabs pick out an alluring groove, as distant chimes twinkle evoking the enchanted forest ever-present in Eulberg’s thoughts. Just as you’re on the cusp of entering a dream like state, Eulberg reminds us all of his four-to-the-floor techno credentials, dropping a dark and rumbling bass line and driving percussions into the mix.

We asked one of our favourite labels, Berlin-based Innervisions, to have three of their artists remix tracks from 'Coexist'. The result is 'Youngvisions', a collaborative release between our label Young Turks and Innervisions. [The XX] Berlin’s Innervisions get three artists on their roster to remix tracks from The xx’s incredible ‘Coexist’. Released on Young Turks, this is a collaborative effort from both labels, and sees Ame, Dixon and Marcus Worgull applying their individual touches to the muted cuts of The xx.
Dixon opts for a Balearic club effort, Worgull’s is a dubby builder, and finally Ame goes for lo-fi atmospherics with the spotlight shone on the haunting steel drum. 18. Daniel Dexter - Why So Serious (UNER Remix) [Poker Flat Recordings | PFR 140]
Fresh from his epic and celebratory ‘Focus On’ album, Daniel Dexter returns to Poker Flat with a bang. This release pulls together some blistering remixes of tracks that originally appeared on 'Focus On' - supplied by some of the hottest producers from the underground.
First up is Uner, the young Spaniard whose work on labels such as Cadenza has been turning heads of late. His remix of Dexter’s 'Why So Serious' is a bomb – driving Tech House with a big room feel that will be flipping dancefloors upside down for the rest of the summer.
David Keno also works some magic on 'Storm' – another stand out track from Dexter’s long player. Keno’s elegant touch with melody and rhythmic complexity takes 'Storm' in a new direction - resulting in a piece of music that works equally as a floor burner as it does in a listening context.
Kollektiv Turmstrasse have been building a unstoppable juggernaut of buzz over the past few years, and with their Blindbird remix of 'Birds', it’s easy to see why. The German duo pull out this devious slice of deep Electro/Techno that is as assured as it is weird - a true must have for the heads.
The legend that is Ian Pooley doesn’t disappoint with his version of 'Night Away feat. Geraldine Roth', taking the original and twisting it to his own brand of taut, focussed tech-house.
All four remixes are available via the 12inch from Poker Flat. Digital customers can also pick up the originals of each cut, split over two parts.
