Release Notes:

01. Daft Punk - (Henry Saiz Just wanted you to stay Remix) [Soundcloud | Free Download]

Madrid-based producer Henry Saiz is giving away his sought after remix of Daft Punk’s ‘Horizon‘ which was the bonus track from the Japanese version of Daft Punk’s ‘Random Access Memories‘ album.

Saiz re-imagines the track as a suave slice of rolling progressive house that builds and builds for an impending big finale.

02. Kenny Leaven - Trident [Souvenir Music | SOUVENIR 060]

It’s becoming a rarer and rarer thing nowadays, especially in this fast growing, overcrowded world of music, to find well educated musicians with the ability to read music and play instruments. Kenny Leaven (real name Andreas Braun), however, is one of the few. Besides running his own label Elenore Records since 2009, founding and organising Erfurts Bayou Festival, he is still producing quality music.

Kenny’s new EP for Souvenir keeps in line with his unique, interstellar sound; two quirky, eccentric cosmic cuts which stand unparalleled by other producers right now. Both tracks on the single recall something of the Balearic euphoria of Todd Terje’s recent output as well as making humble references to the pumping analogue bass of Italo and more rigid early 80s electronic explorations. Step on board and prepare yourself for an interplanetary, cosmic journey through music history, expertly examined through a modern lens.

03. Wouter De Moor - Nymphi [Rejected | REJ030]

Voorn and Oosterwal’s Amsterdam based Imprint ‘Rejected’ has delivered a versatile concoction of dexterous house and techno since it started back in 2006 and on this occasion it's Wouter de Moor whose turn it is to produce the goods.

The title track ‘Nymphi’ is an upbeat number that relies on a funky organ, bouncy bassline and well crafted percussion with splashy hats. Wouter de Moor closes the EP with ‘B.L.T’: crafted on a stripped back tip, with driving hats and a snappy clap, it fronts a sporadic bassline with an intermittent moody synth that's ready and waiting for any fuel-filled set.

The Amsterdam based producers inaugural outing for Rejected follows on from what’s already a catalogue of fine creative releases.

04. Christian Smith - Dorian Grey (Funk D'Void Remix) (Omakase Remixed Part #2) [Tronic Music | TR125]

Here is the second remix pack from Christian Smith’s recent “Omakase” album.Very strong remixes courtesy of: Julian Jeweil, Ramon Tapia, DJ Boris, and Funk D’Void. Enjoy :)

06. Darren Emerson - Hotdog [Bedrock Digital | Beddigi-39]

For the next Bedrock release, the label turns to one of the most influential figures in dance music over the last 20 years, Darren Emerson. Underworld’s classic 1993 “Dubnobasswithmyheadman” album, “Born Slippy” on the Trainspotting movie soundtrack, unforgettable remixes for The Chemical Brothers and Björk, “Scorchio” with Sasha – these are just a few examples of key creations that have captured so many people’s imaginations.

For twenty years Darren Emerson has blazed an unrivalled trail across the electronic scene, navigating a highly successful career as a DJ, producer, remixer and label owner (Underwater and Detone). Now, fresh from a brilliant remix of Paul Rutherford’s Acid House classic “Get Real”, he makes his debut on Bedrock.

“Hot Dog” is a big-room beast that evolves from ethereal pads, heavy drums, clever percussion and crazy noises, to create a hypnotic groove that builds and develops with subtle skill until brimful with tension and bursting with energy. Darren Emerson never fails to impress.

Berlin based Florian Meindl is a multi-talented talented DJ, producer, sound designer, writer and label boss (Flash Recordings), whose productions have graced labels such as Trapez, Stil vor Talent, Herzblut and Kling Klong. Here he strips things back, brings the beats to the fore, turns up the funk factor and creates an equally hypnotic and enthralling and yet distinctly different version of “Hot Dog”.

Once again, Bedrock continues to capture the essence of why electronic dance music is such an exciting prospect right now, picking up praise and support from some of the world’s most savvy and innovative forward-thinking DJs.

07. Egbert - Hemelpoort (Warm EP) [Gem Records | GEM029]

Egbert has been dazzling us with the speed at which he seems to have skyrocketed to being one of the world's top players in the techno scene. Within a short period of time he has managed to create a rapidly growing fan base who have all been avidly waiting for him to release an album for some time now. This November Egbert will finally be releasing ‘Warm’ on Secret Cinema's Gem Records.

With powerful pumping main room techno such as ‘Haasten’ and ‘Straktrekken’ under his belt but also melodic and somewhat minimal sounding techno, Egbert creates a broad spectrum of music within his own signature sound. So which direction did he go on Warm?

The album takes you on a trip through Egbert’s vision of melodic techno. Well produced and euphoric but without stepping in to known territory. In his own words: ‘One thing I often miss at techno parties is warmth. I would like to bring that back to techno’. While his live sets are usually filled with percussion and rhythm, this album compiles the tracks that bring warmth to his set. We also get a taste of Egbert’s raw side with the powerful pumping grooves and punishing dark basslines on ‘Tegno’ and ‘Shulgin’. There’s even a new flavour added to the versatile producer’s palate with the trippy ambient sounds of ‘Ondergronds’ and ‘Trip’.

After hearing Egbert’s first EP ‘Stroom’ on Myspace, Jeroen ‘Secret Cinema’ Verheij was quick to snatch up Egbert and take him under his wing. ‘He came walking into my studio with hundreds of brilliant tracks that only needed some polishing up’ says Verheij. After that Egbert released ‘Magie’ which was one of Sven Väth’s favourites for 2009 and made it onto Cocoon’s ‘Sounds of the 10th Season’. Suddenly, Egbert was a new player on the worldwide techno scene. Four years and many huge EPs and remixes later, his album is finally here!

‘Warm’ emerges with the delicate, rolling rhythms and pads of opening track ‘Fonkel’ that stretches out across eight minutes of expansive, emotional landscape before the ‘Magic Night’ tightens up the beats before going deeper into the darkness and the previously mentioned ‘Shulgin’ pulses ever further into the night. ‘Hemelpoort’ brings us back towards the light with shimmering chords as does the more driving yet eloquent ‘Leven’ with ‘Machtig’ proving a slow builder that really hits its stride in the middle. Finally the album disappears into the ether with the atmospheric resonance of ‘Trip’, showcasing another string to Egbert comforting, radiant production.
