BASIC FUNCTION:

Sterling Payment Technologies provides point of sales payment technology and electronic transaction processing services to merchants nationwide.  Sales are made through our network of partners, including Sales Agents, Dealer Solutions, Associations and Agent/Community Banks.  The Account Manager serves as the primary business contact for the client and is responsible for the client’s satisfaction.   The AM is expected to consistently provide excellent customer service to accounts, as well as represent client’s needs and goals within the organization to ensure quality.  In addition, the AM should build relationships with clients to encourage new products, such as Rewards, Perkz, Funding, Gift Card opportunities, etc.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats with peers and customers, internal and external to Sterling.

Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and projects, work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Ability to utilize personal computer, telephone, facsimile, copier, calculator, and other general office equipment.

Ability to understand and communicate pricing information to Sales Partners and their customers.

Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in making decisions and interact effectively and positively with all levels of personnel, partners and vendors.

Ability to handle confidential material appropriately.

Ability to handle difficult situations with the utmost composure and professionalism.

Ability to be detail oriented.

Ability to establish rapport quickly and efficiently with all customers.

Ability to communicate and resolve problems on a timely basis.

Ability to acknowledge full ownership responsibility in accomplishing the business objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Identify merchants that process with Sterling that qualify to have Account Management through our Star Rating report.

Responsible for all Client communications and conflict resolution.

Reviews all major accounts to ensure all quality standards and client expectations are met.

Call on merchants with referral incentives for them to send us new business opportunities monthly.

Do business reviews to make sure merchants have fair pricing and fees are in line with industry standards.

Maintain a certain call volume average weekly & monthly (call outs to merchants).

Once a relationship has been established present new “sticky” products to the merchants, such as Rewards, Perkz, Funding, Gift Card opportunities, etc.

Let the merchant know that their business is appreciated through constant contact through email, phone calls, handwritten notes, etc.

Educate the merchant on how to accept credit cards the right way.

Secure merchants to sign another agreement with Sterling when rates are reduced.

Responsible for logging all info from phone calls in Spoon (or other system as needed).

Track losses from accounts being maintained to see how effective this practice is.

Responsible for monitoring account alerts and become familiar with account patterns; responsible to set the right patterns for each account to enable effective monitoring.

Assist with PCI compliance as needed.

Complete miscellaneous job duties as required.

High School diploma required.

1 to 2 years college desired, but not required with equivalent work experience.

Some sales experience preferred.

Experience with POS debit and credit terminal hardware and software also preferred.

Ability to work independently required

Strong analytical, problem solving, decision making skills.

Proficient skills in Internet Knowledge/Base navigation, telephone, facsimile, copier, calculator, and other general office equipment.

Proficient computer skills in Word, Excel, Access, and Windows based programs including e-mail preferred.
