Virat Kohli has arguably been the backbone behind India's meteoric rise in cricket over the past few years. Whether it is limited-overs or Test cricket, the Indian batting sensation has developed a knack of decimating opposition bowlers with his majestic batting display.

The recent Test and ODI series win against England is yet another example that reiterates Kohli's ever-growing reputation as India's most-prized possession in cricket. He is currently ranked no. 1 in T20Is and no. 2 in both ODIs and Test cricket. To top it all, he looks in the best shape of his life. If that's not perfection personified, then probably nothing will.

Such has been Kohli's genius with the bat that not only the Indian fans, but former greats from across the border, too, have been busy singing songs of his exploits.

The Indian captain became the focus of a discussion between three Pakistani greats during a TV programme. Former Pakistan cricketers Wasim Akram, Shoaib Akhtar and Saqlain Mushtaq have all been taking his example to inspire their national players.

The legendary trio praised Kohli's character for helping India pull off an improbable chase in the first ODI against England. They lauded the Delhi cricketer for smashing 17 hundreds for his team's cause during run-chases.

Apart from Kohli, they also pointed out the success of the Indian team to show the failings of the Pakistan squad.

Saqlain Mushtaq, who is currently assisting the England players on India tour, was highly impressed with Kohli's discipline on and off the field. During the India-England series, the 40-year-old revealed a conversation he had with Kohli in the gym.
