The Bacardi NH7 Weekender is all set to prop up the stage, yet again across the country, having announced their festival dates, kickstarting on 21st and 22nd October, 2016 in Shillong. But while a large percentage of the music lovers in the country are highly anticipating the happiest music festival to take over and lift their spirits, there is a huge change in their plans as to which places will actually prove to be the happiest this time around.

In its seventh edition, the Bacardi NH7 Weekender will be opening in Shillong where last year the franchise got an enthralling response from the audience. Following this, the Weekender bus hits the beautiful city of Hyderabad, for the first time ever this year, on November 5th and 6th, 2016. The festival will head to Pune between December 2nd and 4th, 2016. Yes, this time around, they don’t have a stopover at New Delhi, like they did in previous years.

While Vijay Nair, CEO, Only Much Louder, is travelling and remained unavailable for comment on the real reasons behind the change in plan this time around, for the moment, sources tell us that this is part of a bigger plan to spread the happiest music festival across to other cities in the country as well, instead of limiting it to the major metropolitan conglomerates. In his initial statement, Nair said, “Every year we aim to give fans something new as part of the Bacardi NH7 Weekender experience - whether that’s taking it to new cities, or introducing new stages and features, or adding something new to the festival’s canon – and this year is no different.”
But there’s a whole lot more in store for all the Weekender fans out there as this year, there is a special edition of the Bacardi NH7 Weekender Express that will be touring the smaller cities of Kolkata, Jaipur, Mysore, Pondicherry and Nagpur. Set to be a one-day edition, this will be an experiential for those who would otherwise almost always be unable to attend the expansive festival owing to extensive travel and other hurdles. The special edition will feature an array of breakthrough artist performances, complete with the Bacardi Arena.

Besides this, the NH7 Weekender is all set to plan several build-up gigs across popular venues in the country. Starting August, fans will get a chance to host their own Bacardi NH7 Weekender House Parties. With 100 curated house parties in the offing, Bacardi and Only Much Louder will give select fans the gear to throw their own awesome Weekender parties. More details on how to get in line for this will be announced soon.

Nair added, “We’re incredibly proud to be able to take the quintessential festival experience to Hyderabad for the first time this year, and to be able to touch new cities like Jaipur, Pondicherry, Nagpur and Mysore as part of the Bacardi NH7 Weekender Express. There’s a lot more surprises in store on the road to the festival and we can’t wait to share all the details with fans in the coming weeks. Of course, there are some surprises you’ll only discover once you walk through the festival gates.”
So, while the happiest festival is giving the capital a pass this time around, there are so many other places and Weekender experiences to look out for that we can skip to the part where we mourn for the Delhiites’ losses and plan our travels accordingly!
