CIC Video catalogue system
CIC Video and their successor Pramount Home Video in the UK used the system described below to catagorize their releases. For example:

VHR 2011

The first two letters describe the video format (i.e. VH for VHS) and the third letter is possibly for the release type (such as R for retail). The last (numbered) part is of course the release number, generally in a chronological order.

Releases of a film almost always shared the same number. For example, the VHS release of 1 had the catalogue code VHA 2011, the Betamax release was BEA 2011 and the Video 2000 release was CRA 2011. Laserdisc appears to use slightly different lettering as that release of the film has a code of LVH 2011.

Later LaserDisc releases of the 90s don't appear to follow the same numbering system.

This system fell out of use with the end of VHS by which time PHE had already moved on to a different system for DVDs.

VCD (Video CD)
China
Released c. 2004 by Thakral Home Entertainment. First 9 films were dubbed in Mandarin Chinese, no subtitles. There were two versions of Nemesis, one dubbed in Chinese and another which was the original English version. The release of The Motion Picture may have been of the Director's Edition cut, at least the cover uses that logo anyway.

Hong Kong
Deltamac released VCDs starting from 2001. One of three areas to release Into Darkness.

India
Reliance Home Video & Games/BIG Home Video. Two versions of Star Trek and Into Darkness have been released. One being the English original and another with Hindi dubbing. Around 2009 (though their site also suggests 2008) they also released Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (English only). Apparently previously in 2002 Paramount signed a deal with another company, Excel to release VCDs in India. They did release some in 2003 but only some of the films and even then they were out of sequence.

Indonesia
The first 10 films were released c. 2002/2003. For some reason Nemesis used a taller cardboard case.

Malaysia/Singapore
HVN Entertainment. They released at least the first seven films in 2002. Insurrection (and presumably the rest of the TNG films) followed around 2003. Last release was of Star Trek in 2009.

The earlier release of The Star Trek Collection was by another company with no connection to HVN.

Phillippines
Magnavision Home Video released at the very least Star Trek. They possibly released the previous films too though those may have been by another company.

Spain
More of a footnote than anything else. A 35-minute VCD called "Especial la Saga Star Trek" was released in 2003 with a Nemesis-themed issue of Cinemania magazine. Apparently includes a featurette on the Star Trek: The Adventure exhibition at Hyde Park, London as well as some "Making of" stuff of 10 with interviews of the cast and crew. . No idea whether this is either dubbed in Spanish or is English with Spanish subtitles.

Taiwan
At least two companies have had the rights the release VCDs in Taiwan. The first one was King's International Multimedia (who according to the Chinese Wikipeida had a history with Paramount/CIC Video going back to 1987) who released the films The Voyage Home through to Insurrection sometime in the early 2000s. It appears that for some reason they never released the first three films on the format.

Around early 2003 the rights were handed over to another company, Catalyst Logic for currently unknown reasons. They subsequently re-issued much of Paramount's back-catalog that had been released by King's Multimedia. Along with Nemesis they also re-released the first six films that same year. The packaging for 1 would appear to suggest the release was of the Director's Edition cut of the film but this has yet to be determined. Catalyst Logic does not appear to have re-released Generations, First Contact or Insurrection at any point. Curiously though, they did reissue them on DVD.

Two versions of 10 have been spotted. It has yet to be determined how these differ from one another.

All known releases are shown below. All are sorted according to their catalogue/EAN codes which may be their possible release order.

Thailand
MVD were the licenee for this area. At least Insurrection, Nemesis and Star Trek have been released here. One of three areas to release Into Darkness (which was released by United Home Entertainment, not MVD).

Turkey
The first 11 films were released on the format here, the first ten under the localized title "Uzay Yolu". Unlike other areas Paramount Home Entertainment (or at least their local branch there) themselves appear to have released these.

Canada
Canadian releases are largely identical to those of the US though the films at least were also released in French-language versions.

Italy
Lots of stuff on this site. All known releases are dubbed in Italian.

The Original Series
Star Trek: The Original Series was released three times.

The inital release was by CIC Video. Episodes were put in ten box sets which had eight episodes each. The last box also included the documentary William Shatner's Star Trek Memories. The last of these came out in 1997.

The second release, dubbed the Star Trek Collection was by De Agostini and was available at newsstands on a fortnightly basis from the end of 1998. This range also included at least some of the Star Trek films as well as the Star Trek 25th Anniversary Special.

The third release, starting from May 2002 was of the "Digitally Remastered" versions that had been released in the UK a few years earlier. These had the same volume numbering, cover art etc. as the UK versions.

The Next Generation
All of Star Trek: The Next Generation was eventually released starting from 1997. Season 1 was released in 9 volumes, numbered 1-9. The cover art used for these was reminiscent of the TNG Season 5 US VHS release. With Season 2 though the format changed and Italy switched over to using the cover art, volume numbering and episode placement from the UK re-release that was taking place around the same time. Unlike what happened in the UK though these releases continued right to the end of the seventh season, the last two seasons recieving cover art in the same style as the previous UK releases. The last volumes are known to have been released around 2004/05 (which could possibly make these the last Trek VHS releases worldwide). A number of box sets were also available.

Deep Space Nine/The Animated Series
Only two episodes of Deep Space Nine were released, one of which was the pilot, Emissary which was sold on its own and as part of a set with the pilots of the other four live-action series. The second episode was Trials and Tribble-ations which was available as part of a themed set with the other Tribble episodes called Star Trek - Animaletti Pericolosi in 2001 (episodes and cover art are the same as the UK LaserDisc set Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - Triple Tribble Troubles). This set also ended up being the only VHS release in the country of an Animated Series episode: More Tribbles, More Troubles.

Voyager
The first four seasons of Voyager were released. Initally these were released as four-episode two-tape volumes. By the end of the second season though this was reduced to two episodes on one tape, the same format the series was released in the UK and Germany.

Enterprise
Enterprise was not released at all.

Films
Currently little is known about film releases though the first ten are known to have been released and multiple versions of some of them do exist.

UK
The Next Generation
There is also an earlier rental release of TNG. Two episodes a tape. These can be told from the later ones by their different cover art and starting with "VHB" in their catalogue codes and different cover art. They don't appear to follow either the production order or the original broadcast order.

At least the first two volumes (only volume 2 has been identified so far) were also released on Betamax.

Not all UK volumes have been found yet. Some of the gaps have been filled in by releases from other countries, such as Australia and Brazil.
