Our client is one of South Africa’s leading print media production companies and SA’s second largest news portal, with +- 3 million readers. Their stable of quality publications include 20 of the country’s most prominent newspapers and it is a premier source of regional news.
They are looking for a Digital Account Manager who will be in charge of selling their digital media platforms. Successful candidates will have a very solid understanding of digital media for web and mobile.
Minimum of 3 years digital media sales experience, with particular emphasis, affinity and knowledge of the online and advanced advertising space including display, video, and various targeting solutions a prerequisite
Fluency with online media-buying terminology, plus familiarity with online/Interactive analytics and ad-serving technology a prerequisite
Qualifications: Matric essential, relevant tertiary diploma/degree advantageous
Self starter, capable of executing within all phases of sales cycle
Strong relationships with digital media agencies in S.A. essential
Have a proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets
Own vehicle and a valid, unendorsed Code 08 driver’s licence
Job description and duties
Prospect, develop and close sales for Digital Media product lines for both web and mobile based products within the group.
Drive online and cross platform advertising sales, meet and exceed all sales goals.
Identify, create strategies, penetrate influential contacts, and close new business within the digital agency landscape that directly results in new revenue for the company.
Main focus is on assigned digital agencies and direct clients within your respective sales territory.
Prospect new business opportunities based on assigned territory and provide weekly updates and reports to management.
Prepare proposals and respond timely to online RFP’s with a high degree of professionalism and quality.
Negotiate/sell the intrinsic value of a proposed campaign to customers, not just the program/price.
Manage online forecasting (including budget, dates, probability to close and inventory estimates) and campaign performance
Ability to work in a fast pace, creative environment
Strong communication and presentation skills
Team player and interpersonal skills
Have the ability to identify and exploit sales opportunities in the market place
Have a good command of the English and Afrikaans language.
Be confident and have the ability to deal with clients and management at all levels.
Be able to work accurately to deadline with minimum supervision in a highly pressurised team environment.
