Happy Tuesday loves!!

Are you ready for Thanksgiving on Thursday?! It’s my all time favorite holiday and I just can’t wait! The food, the desserts, the family, the love, it’s just the best!

Nicole and George were married on August 2nd, 2014 at the The Grand Oak Villa in Connecticut Event. Their wedding was stylish, elegant, and the theme was one of my fave colors…purple. Let’s hear more from Candace Jeffery Photography…..

I am so happy to share Nicole and George’s wedding photos with you today! It was such a lovely wedding, with lots of love for family, classic black suits, and shades of purple throughout. Nicole’s parents are photographers as well, and it was so nice having them involved along the way. The ceremony was held at St. John’s in Watertown, and the reception was at The Grand Oak Villa. Earth Blossoms did such a beautiful job, the venue never looks so good! We hope that you love all the photos!

Now from our Bride…..

How did you and your husband meet?

I met George while I happened to be in his office one day shadowing one of his co-workers. He asked me out to lunch later that week and we really hit it off.

Did you do any DIY projects? If so, what….

We did a ton of DIY projects, mostly with my mom and dad. One of the more difficult projects was making the table overlays. I was looking for an overlay for the tables and couldn’t find one that I really liked or that was affordable. My mom found these really cool curtains and spent weeks sewing them into the overlays for the tables. Everyone loved them and had no clue they were originally curtains. We also made all the menus. We spent a night cutting and taping gold and purple paper and then taping the actual menu that my dad typed/printed onto the paper. We had a conveyer line going on at my grandmother’s house that night. We also made all the favors: mint chocolate covered Oreos and chocolate dipped pretzels. It was so hard not to eat them all when making them! Another fun DIY project was making all the table numbers. We really wanted our dog involved (George didn’t know about the dog groom’s cake) so we went out on a photo shoot with my dad and our dog Selma, and used pictures of her for the table numbers. This was just a few of my favorite projects that we had going on. There was so much more!

What is your favorite wedding day memory?

Its so hard to pick just one! We had such a great time the entire day/night. Aside from the obvious favorite of seeing my soon-to-be-husband for the first time as I walked down the aisle, I would have to say walking into the reception hall for the first time. I used to work at the banquet hall when I was in high school and have seen so many different weddings and other events, but I have never seen the hall look this beautiful. I joked with my mom throughout the process that my Pinterest board was coming to life, and when we walked through the doors, it was more than I could have imagined. We had draping added to the hall and that along with the beautiful flower arrangements made it absolutely perfect. George’s reaction when he saw his groom’s cake (our dog Selma) was also pretty awesome! The best part about everything was being able to share this with all of our friends and family who have traveled from all over the country to be there with us for our special day.

What advice would you give to a bride currently planning her wedding?

I would have to say hire Candace Jeffery for a photographer! She did an absolutely amazing job capturing every moment. I would also say don’t be afraid to ask for help. I was in my 2nd year of law school while planning our wedding and without my mom by my side it would not have been a fraction of what it turned out to be.

Congrats to the happy couple!!

xoxo
