After browsing Laguna Pearl's selection of pearl necklaces, I decided to go with the 6.5-7.0mm White Akoya Pearl Necklace - AA+ Quality. This gorgeous pearl necklace contains perfectly round, white pearls and has the popular princess length of 18 inches, resting at or right below the collarbone (depending on the woman).
If you're not familiar with akoya pearls, all akoya pearls are imported directly from the saltwaters of Japan, and are grown in the Pinctada fucata oyster. Akoya pearls have become one of the most popular pearls within all categories because of their amazing luster, clean surface quality, and incredible value.
All of Laguna Pearl's pearl necklaces are made on site, while their experienced staff of GIA certified specialists pay careful attention to all details in order to create truly beautiful pearl necklaces. My pearl necklace came affixed with the standard 14K white gold clasp (can come in 14K yellow gold). I absolutely love the 18" length on me-- it's not too long and it's not too close to my neck where I feel smothered. I can see why this length is the most popular and definitely suggest going with this length if you are looking for something not a choker length and not too long.
Putting on and taking off the necklace is very easy with the white gold finesse clasp I was given on my pearl necklace. I normally need help putting on necklaces with clasps, but I have no trouble at all with this one.
