Great Hyderabad Adventure Club - GHAC and Centre for Social Initiative & Management - CSIM have come together in creating a customized and special social entrepreneurship course for the benefit of Social Entrepreneurs and Wannabe Social Entrepreneurs.
This Orientation Meet No 2 is being done to interact with participants interested in Social Entrepreneurship and who want to learn the skills required to be a successful social entrepreneur.

Social entrepreneurship signifies application of entrepreneurial mindset in solving social problems. It is a conscious, committed effort based on strategic thinking with a problem solving mindset to bring about social change. Social entrepreneurship is about working within the current constraints, creating an operating model that will adapt and sustain, to serve the cause in any situation
GHAC has brought together the expertise of its community and leadership building skills through outdoors and its various engagements including learning by doing along with the academic excellence and rigor of CSIM to design this Course.
The Certificate Course in SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP is a 12 classes, 48 hours session + 240 hours of real time assignments spread over a 6 months period to introduce and practice, the principles and criteria of social entrepreneurship to existing and potential social change agents.
Course Objectives
- Enable Participants to discover one's own passion for social action
- Provide a structured understanding of the social work space, its various stakeholders, the social work environment, the inherent challenges, the accomplishments and the social impact.
- Equip participants with the relevant skills to engage in social work in various capacities; as a volunteer, running an NGO, or Starting a Social Enterprise
- Provide a real context for social action - Identify, Design, Develop and ACT on any one social cause.
Course Outline
Course consists of twelve modules with a total time of about 48 hours. Modules deal with concepts of social entrepreneurship, legal aspects, fund development, social marketing, management tools, project management, Corporate Social Responsibility, Finance management, Human resource management and Communication.
Assignments
The assignments will focus on real time work on Idea Generation, Research, Validation of Idea, Revenue Model, Pitching, Fund Raising and Social Enterprise Marketing. Participants are expected to spend 10 hours a week on classes and assignments.
Duration : 6 Months
Regular Classes will start from Sat 23rd August 2014 onward. The contact sessions will be on 2nd and 4th Saturday every month from 9:00 am to 01:00 pm at GHAC Office, Road No 3, Banjara Hills.

The participants in the program will be supported and mentored by Founders from the Successful Enterprises, Social Enterprises and Not for Profits.
