Mid-Atlantic Hiking Group

Our 7th Annual Pumpkin Cannon and Corn Maze Adventure Plus a Movie Screening of a Blockbuster Movie, and a Bon Fire in a Teepee!

Don't miss out on this annual good times event! These pumpkins really fly (up to 75 mph) and I found this particular location thanks to the "Travel Channel" and now it seems that everyone goes there, yay! It was rated as one of the top 3 pumpkin cannons in the states. You may choose to fire off various stuff ranging from corn, apples, and of course, pumpkins. They also have a fun and challenging corn maze so we get to take a hike too-grin. There are details for each unique event explained in detail further down in this posting. Everything is optional and, of course, you do not need to stay and do everything. Just participate in what you want, but get up, come out, and get to know more of your fellow group members while having an evening of fun at this private event!

Note: The maze is intended to be an event for the dark and is aptly named "Lawyers Moonlight Maze". The cannons and the rest of the area are in a lighted area. Only the Maze is dark.

This is a Private Mid-Atlantic Hiking Group (MAHG) Event!

They normally do not close to the public, but have made an exception due to our long term relationship with them, plus, over the years, we have helped them setup the targets we will be shooting at with the cannons.  So let's not make them sorry for it and have a great turn out. BTW, when you see me step up to the cannon like in the pic above, run fast, run very fast and very far-grin... Heck, I won't touch the military cannon which is new the past couple of years. Check it out to the left, WOW!

Click Here to see the website of where we are going and you can get even more information, none the least being some video footage of us shooting the cannons last year.

Spectacular Corn Maze

The spectacular corn maze is tons of fun and absolutely perfect for a group of hikers at it's 8.6 miles of trails covering 42 acres! Within the maze, there are 18 checkpoints to find and punch on your map. We will give you a map to navigate the four separate mazes. Complete all four mazes to find all 18 checkpoints! The maze is meant to be done at night, hence the name "Lawyers Moonlight Maze"! Click here for more pictures maze! The theme this year is "Support Our Troops" and it is spelled out in the maze as shown on the right. Be sure to bring your head lamp or flashlight if joining us in the maze. Wear old shoes or your hiking boots.

Movie Screening

Grab a warm drink and join us at 8:00 p.m. to enjoy a screening of a blockbuster movie, on a must-see-it-to-believe giant haybail screen. This is truly a remarkable experience.

Food Concessions Available
Sodas, cider, hot choc. and their famous pit beef sandwiches are fantastic to enjoy by the bonfire in the teepee or while taking in the movie. Their food specialty is their pit beef sandwiches that have been slow cooked for 8 hours! They also have hamburgers, hot dogs, fries, chips etc.

You can also choose to bring your own food from home. Feel free to bring stuff to make s'mores, (or buy a s'more pack on site) or anything else you would like to roast on the bonfire in our groups teepee.

Weather Information
This event is rain or shine. While it has only rained one time during this gropu tradition, the rain only added to the experience, all who attended agreed it was much fun playing in the muddy maze and playing like children again. The Maze is almost always muddy so wear appropriate footwear if you are up for the maze challenge. Only the maze is in a muddy area. Click Here to see an up to the minute forecast for where the farm is located.

Carpool Information
To carpool from the Baltimore area, you can meet at Savage Station. Click here for directions to Savage Station.

If you can drive or want to carpool from an additional location such as D.C., please post your location in the comment section below. For those who need a ride, reach out to the drivers. Make friends, and support the environment - by just offering a ride!
