We are currently seeking an experienced per diem Registered Nurse 3 to join our ambulatory surgery center team in Huntington Beach. This immediate opportunity will be responsible for providing professional nursing care by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care of patients. Supervises and delegates tasks as needed to professional and para-professional employees. Coordinates activities and works closely with clinicians and staff to maintain efficient department functions and ensure successful operation of the department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Perform simple to moderately complex Nursing procedures within the scope of practice of a Registered Nurse. Performs a comprehensive patient assessment. Obtains, interprets, records and reports vital signs, (temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure) height, weight and other pertinent patient information to the provider. Prepares patients for examinations and other procedures. Develops an appropriate nursing care plan. Implements a plan of care by performing nursing interventions and assisting with procedures. Instructs patients on procedural preparation. Performs various patient tests and procedures within the scope of practice of the registered nurse. Administers medications and other therapeutic modalities within the scope of practice of a registered nurse. Performs patient and family teaching. Maintains clinical standards outlined in the clinical operations policy and procedure manual; identifies deficiencies and makes recommendations for change. Documents and maintains records of medical and nursing procedures. Coordinates with providers and ancillary departments to plan daily work assignments according to staff abilities, patient schedules, patient flow, provider schedules and procedures. Ensures adequate levels of supplies are maintained. Ensures that all equipment is maintained. Adheres to safety policies and procedures at all times. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
