Service Area Overview:

Specialty areas include BMT, Women’s, Prostate, and Research.

Position Description:

Assists with the development, implementation and coordination of all genetic counseling, screening, testing and follow-up for specific patient populations. Supports the development and promotion of the program through education to the lay and medical community. Functions as a resource to other members of the health care team. Consults with physicians and other health care providers and makes recommendations for appropriate services and patient health care management. May also participate in other research activities as directed.

Position Requirements:

Required: Masters Degree in Human Genetics or Genetic Counseling Two years of genetic counseling experience Established leadership, management and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to be highly motivated and work independently. Preferred: Board Certification in Genetic Counseling by the ABMG or ABGC. Membership in a professional genetic counseling organization. Management / supervisory experience; demonstrated leadership skills.
