The follow up to last summers debut in the ‘Best New Reggae and Dancehall’ series has finally arrived. Caribbean Dance Radio listeners have been hearing about it for months and at last…it is available for your listening enjoyment.
The second installation in the series, titled ‘RAM JAM’, is not only named after the smash riddim by Silly Walks Discotheque prominently featured on this website, but is also an homage to veteran radio disc jockey Sir David Rodigan. ‘Ram Jam’ has been Rodigan’s nickname for years and with over 30 years in the broadcasting industry, he is overly deserving of the Signal he requests troths of reggae fans all over the world.
‘RAM JAM’ begins with Gappy Ranks explicitly firing off ‘Full Clip’ in a dubplate style on a rare Studio One production. Bass heavy tones encompass the entire mix with productions from Royal Order Music, RiddimWise, Overstand Ent, Bizzarri Records, Maximum Sound, Penthouse Records, Silly Walks Discotheque, Oneness Records, Notis, and more. Singers both new and old lend their talents on the singles & riddims as well as in dubplate style.
