As we all know that crime and criminals are increasing day by day. They are equally equipped with latest technology and sophisticated equipments. They are involved in international terrorism, organized crime, civil rights, murders, kidnapping, extortion, drug peddling, gambling, cyber crime, public corruption, white collar crime and counterintelligence. Indian Detective Against Crime is formed with a motto to Investigate / Detect and fight against crime and criminals and to abolish crime.

'''WHAT WE INVESTIGATE'''<br />

International Terrorism, Organized Crime, Civil Rights, Murders, Kidnapping, Extortion, Drug Peddling, Gambling, Cyber Crime, Public Corruption, White Collar Crime and Counterintelligence. We investigate them all, and many more -

'''INTERNATIONAL TERRORISM'''<br />

It’s our top priority—protecting the INDIA from terrorist attacks.

Working closely with a range of partners, we use our growing suite of investigative and intelligence capabilities to neutralize terrorist cells and operatives here in the INDIA, to help dismantle extremist networks worldwide, and to cut off financing and other forms of support provided by terrorist sympathizers.

'''ORGANIZED CRIME'''<br />

It’s not just the Mafia anymore.

Today, organized crime comes at us from every corner of the globe. We work to cripple these national and transnational syndicates with every capability and tool we’ve got: undercover operations; confidential sources; surveillance; intelligence analysis and sharing; forensic accounting; multi-agency investigations; and the power of racketeering statutes that help us take down entire enterprises. We also work closely with our international partners—in some cases, swapping personnel—to build cases and disrupt groups with global ties.

<br />

'''CIVIL RIGHTS'''<br />

IDAC remains dedicated to protecting the cherished freedoms of all INDIANs. That includes aggressively investigating and working to prevent hate crime and human trafficking—the two top priorities of our civil rights program. We also support the work and cases of our local and state partners as needed.

<br />

'''MURDERS'''<br />

Murder investigation in IDAC is undertaken by the specialised homicide squads. IDAC investigate cases of murder, manslaughter, attempted murder where the evidence of intent is unambiguous or where a risk assessment identifies substantive risk to life. IDAC also undertake investigations into missing persons or abductions where there is a reason to suspect life has been taken or is under threat and other investigations identified for specialist needs.

<br />

'''KIDNAPPING & EXTORTION'''<br />

IDAC specializes in handling kidnapping & extortion investigations domestically or internationally. We know each situation is different, and we will commit the necessary time and resources to give you and your family, the personal attention you deserve.

<br />

'''DRUG PEDDLING'''<br />

IDAC is responsible for fighting drug trafficking and the abuse of illegal substances. The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Bill, 1985 was introduced in the Lok Sabha on 23 August 1985. It was passed by both the Houses of Parliament and it was assented by the President on 16 September 1985. It came into force on 14 November 1985 as THE NARCOTIC DRUGS AND PSYCHOTROPIC SUBSTANCES ACT, 1985 (shortened to NDPS Act). Under the NDPS Act, it is illegal for a person to produce/manufacture/cultivate, possess, sell, purchase, transport, store, and/or consume any narcotic drug or psychotropic substance.

<br />

'''GAMBLING'''<br />

Gambling is restricted in India. The Public Gambling Act of 1867 prohibits running or being in charge of a public gaming house. The penalty for breaking this law is a fine of rupees 200 or imprisonment of up to 3 months. Additionally, this Act prohibits visiting gambling houses. A fine of rupees 100 or imprisonment of up to one month is the penalty. The Information Technology Act 2000 regulates cyber activities in India and prohibits publication or transmission of information that can corrupt people. This includes online gambling and the punishment for such activities is much more serious than for offline gambling operations – the fine is rupees 1,00,000 or imprisonment up to 5 years.

<br />

'''CYBER CRIME'''<br />

We are building our lives around our wired and wireless networks. The question is, are we ready to work together to defend them?

The IDAC certainly is. We lead the national effort to investigate high-tech crimes, including cyber-based terrorism, espionage, computer intrusions, and major cyber fraud. To stay in front of current and emerging trends, we gather and share information and intelligence with public and private sector partners worldwide.

<br />

'''PUBLIC CORRUPTION'''<br />

It’s our top priority among criminal investigations—and for good reason.

Public corruption poses a fundamental threat to our national security and way of life. It impacts everything from how well our borders are secured and our neighborhoods protected…to verdicts handed down in courts…to the quality of our roads, schools, and other government services. And it takes a significant toll on our pocketbooks, wasting billions in tax rupees every year.

The IDAC is singularly situated to combat this corruption, with the skills and capabilities to run complex undercover operations and surveillance.

<br />

'''WHITE COLLER CRIME'''<br />

Lying, cheating, and stealing.

That’s white-collar crime in a nutshell. The white-coller crime is now synonymous with the full range of frauds committed by business and government professionals.

It’s not a victimless crime. A single scam can destroy a company, devastate families by wiping out their life savings, or cost investors billions of rupees (or even all three). Today’s fraud schemes are more sophisticated than ever, and we are dedicated to using our skills to track down the culprits and stop scams before they start.

<br />

'''COUNTERINTELLIGENCE'''<br />

Spies haven’t gone the way of the Cold War.

Far from it. They’re more prolific than ever—and targeting our nation’s most valuable secrets. As the lead agency for exposing, preventing, and investigating intelligence activities on INDIA soil, the IDAC works to keep weapons of mass destruction and other embargoed technologies from falling into wrong hands, to protect critical national secrets and assets, and to strengthen the global threat picture by proactively gathering information and intelligence.
