I’m so excited to say that week is finally here with today being day one of the tour. Starting with my home, you’ll get to see 3 homes each day this week, all cozy with farmhouse style and dressed up for fall.

As you enter our home, the first things you see are our living room and our stairway. I really wanted to keep things simple and neutral for our fall decor this year. To me, fall is a season of nature’s beauty coupled with the coziness of being inside, so I wanted to play that up with lots of texture and natural elements.
This is my favorite spot to cuddle up next to the fire and read on cold, fall days.
Ha! Who am I kidding?! I never take time to cuddle up and read! BUT if I did happen to make time to read, I most definitely would sit here to do it.I kept our mantel super simple by adding some books, candles, and glass containers with clippings from trees in our backyard. The simplicity of it makes me feel calm, which I really need during this crazy, busy season of the kids’ school activities and fall sports.The vintage olive bucket is from Decor Steals and is one of my most favorite accessories. I like to fill it with random natural elements that I scavenge for in our backyard – you can’t beat FREE decor!Our old beagle, Lilo, spends her entire day here on this couch. I didn’t dare move her to get a picture or she would have gotten real grouchy with me; it was bad enough I woke her up by taking pictures. Just keepin’ it real here folks.
All of the pillows on this sofa are from H&M Home.Our living room and formal dining room are one large, open space, which we separated by placing a sofa and console table in the middle.These framed chicken wire panels were actual pieces to a chicken coop that I found at an estate sale. I just cleaned them up real good and hung them up on the wall to hold family pictures. I have just started getting my Instagram pictures printed using Social Print Studio. I love how uniform the little square photos with white borders look!You can read all about the the rustic wood pumpkin I made that’s holding our silverware HERE.I found this sweet little blue chair at an estate sale for $20. I purchased it with the intention of re-selling it, but once it came into our house, it didn’t want to leave.To read about how our dining room plate wall came together, visit HERE.I rarely show pictures of our kitchen because it’s not really my style, but in the spirit of giving you a tour of my home, I probably shouldn’t leave the heart of the home out…It’s funny how when you put anything in the cookie jar, it becomes that much more appealing. I can’t even tell you how many times the kids have asked me for an apple in the days since I put them in there!I thought about putting a fall quote on the chalkboard, but then put this one up instead as a reminder to myself to CHILL OUT.Yes, I played musical stools in these two pictures because the chalkboard looked too boring in a photo all by itself. It’s real home is here in the kitchen next to my little coffee bar.This spot in our kitchen (below) is really hard to photograph because of the way the light comes in through the window, but I wanted to share it anyways because it’s my favorite little vignette in the kitchen.I love baking in the fall. The smells, the warmth of the oven, and the savory flavors are all part of the season to me. Isn’t the smell of banana bread baking one of the best smells?! The kids were dying to eat it and had a total fit that I made them wait while I photographed it!Our kitchen, breakfast area, and family room are also one big, open space, which we have also separated with a loveseat. Our family room isn’t super fall-ish because I didn’t really want to change out the beachy pictures on our gallery wall. I love them too much.But I did add a comfy plaid throw blanket (from Target) and made a pumpkin pillow for the couch (read about that project HERE).Our other beagle, Daisy, didn’t want to be left out of the home tour, so she made herself at home on the dog bed while I was shooting the family room.And the last room of the my tour is our master bedroom. I had been coveting this buffalo check duvet from Ballard Designs for a long time and when it went on sale a few months ago, I snatched one up and saved it until now, when the weather finally cooled off. I love how the pattern gives our bedroom a farmhouse look.I already had the white quilted Pickstitch shams from Pottery Barn, but I added in the linen looking tan shams from Ikea to complement the new duvet.
