This past summer we took a camping trip cross-country that took us as far west as Moab, Utah. This time, the motorcycles stayed home, but, the teardrop camper didn’t. We hit some great spots along the way that would be fun to visit on a motorcycle.
Our first day was from Miami to Falling Waters State Park which is located in Chipley, Florida. If coming from the south, I recommend you take I-75 up or any other highway, because taking US-27 as always is a mistake once you hit Sebring, Florida. The traffic lights were endless and it seems we caught each one.
Falling Waters State Park is home to Florida largest waterfall, yes, they have waterfalls in Florida. The campground was small, but nice, and our site offered enough privacy. They also have a trail that begins at the campsites and continues to a small “beach area” where you can cool off in the summer. From there, a short five minute walk will lead you to the waterfall that was created by a sinkhole.
