Sri Manakula Vinayaga Educational Trust (SMVETrust) was formed with the avowed objective of imparting quality medical and technical education especially to the rural sections of the society. SMVE Trustwasestablishedin the year1998under the Chairmanship of our beloved Founder Late Shri .N.Kesavan and is progressing in its vision under the guidance of Shri. M. Dhanasekaran, Chairman and Managing Director, Shri.S.V.Sugumaran, ViceChairmanan, Dr.K.Narayanasamy, Secretary. To cherish this objective and to join hands with the policy of the Governmentof India in enhancing Medical and Technical Education to meet the needs of our nation by ensuring the employabilityof the students, the trust has established “Mailam Engineering College” in the year1998and “SriManakulaVinayagar Engineering College”in 1999.
By recognizing the role of teachers in nation building and considering the teaching profession as noble one, the trust has also established “Venkateswara College of Education” and “Venkateswara Teacher Training Institute” in 2005.
To provide world class quality health care services to all sections of society with emphasis on philanthropy and qualitative Medical Education, the trust has started “Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College and Hospital” in the year 2006.
With over a three hundred doctors, there is always an experienced specialist on hand to initiate treatment without delay. The various specialties covered are General medicine, Paediatrics, Dermatology, Venereology, Leprosy, General surgery, Orthopaedic Surgry, ENT, Ophthalmology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology,Neurosurgery,Urology,Plastic& reconstructive surgery,Paediatric surgery and Dentistry.
Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College & Hospital’s main thrust areas in surgery are General surgery, Paediatric surgery, Orthopaedic surgery, ENTsurgery, and Ophthalmology. Every operation theatre is state of the art ultramodern high tech air conditioned, complete with an attached recovery room, constant positive pressure air supply, total environment control and an alert team of trained medical and nursing staff. All theatre complexes are equipped with Boyle’s apparatuses, Ventilator, Defibrillators,Multiparamonitors,Infusion and Syringe pumps.
Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College & Hospital’s critical care unit are managed by highly qualified intensivists. Critical care beds are distributed over the Intensive Medical Care Unit, Intensive Coronary Care Unit, Surgical Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Respiratory Intensive Care Unit. Each critical care bed is equipped with a highly sophisticated Multipara monitors, cardiac monitoring systems, infusion and syringe pumps, Central Oxygen supply and Negative Pressure for suction. The critical care unit is equipped with ventilators and defibrillators as life support systems.
The diagnostic facilities offered by Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College & Hospital are comprehensive to include laboratory, imaging, cardiology and Pulmonology services.
