Eager to join the race for the 2015 Cocker of the Year title, topnotch breeders are expected to field additional entries when the World Championship Derby of the National Cocker’s Alliance (NCA) resumes today at the Ynares Sports Arena.
Local fighters Gen. Gualberto, Engr. Tony Marfori, Henry Tan, Bong Pineda, Ricky Magtuto, Jun Topacio, RJ Mejia, and Toto Sevilla with duke it out with elite sportsmen whose entries emerged victorious in the opening day of elims last Tuesday.
Guests invited for the second day of the so-called “Olympics of cockfighting” include Vice Mayor Mercado, Lito Orillaza, Fiscal Villanueva, Anthony Lim, Ricky Valencia, Mayor Alonte, Nene Araneta, Gerry Ramos, Boy Torres, Arnold Mendoza, Mayor Jun Diamante, and Romy Lim, among many others.
Famous American cockfighters Roger Robert of Georgia, Tom Wildson, Larry Whitehead, Oscar Akins, and other prominent breeders have also been invited for the international derby, which rivals the world-famous derbies at the Sunset Recreation Club in Louisiana in prestige and quality of fights.
The third and final elimination day of the NCA World Championship Derby is scheduled on May 23. All NCA derbies are sponsored by Sagupaan Complexor.
