In celebration of its 50th year, Tsuburaya productions brings the Ultraman Ginga S 2014 TV Series to the big screen.

Catch the gargantuan hero, Ultraman, fight kaiju (monsters) and aliens invading the planet earth on Sept. 24-25 at SM Cinema’s Family Movie Day.

Having 50 years of foundation, Ultraman has fans from three generations, making it just perfect for a family day.

Not only that, JJ Yokohama of Senior Sales Executive of Tsuburaya said, the hero remains appealing through generations because “Ultraman is a hero of justice. He’s not just strong; he’s also kind. He shows true compassion to human beings and our planet earth.”

The story also considered the common issues today, in order to make the series more relatable to younger audiences.

“[In the] TV show Ultraman Ginga S, we have a group of junior highschool girls. So they are school buddies, they have their anxieties — that’s what we introduced in the Ultraman. So, that [Ultraman] can relate to or resonate to larger, wider audience,” Yokohama said during a meet and greet with the superhero on Saturday, Sept 10.

Yokohama also said, the film features ten Ultraman warriors from past series — a news that made fans gush.

He shared that while there is more advanced technology today, the struggles of the company in adapting through changes remain.

“It’s not easy. It’s always a change, but, we managed to combine Tokusatsu, which is a special technology, with modern computer-generated images (CGI), the avant garde technology.”

Despite the hurdles of time, “the creator and the company, take the challenge,” and wouldn’t have been successful without the support of the fans.

The film features two young men, Hikaru and Shou, who transforms into new Ultra-heroes, Ultraman Ginga and Ultraman Victory. The two partners to fight the evil space warrior, Etelgar, and stop him in his quest of locking out every Ultraman hero in the Galaxy.

Besides producing a family-oriented film, Tsuburaya, in partnership with SM Cinema, gives away two free tickets in every two purchased.

Other than these treats, the company also plans to air the Ultraman Ginga S TV Series on GMA. The official dates have not been decided yet, but, Yokohama told fans “we’ll be on TV very soon”.

He added, it will be made available in other platforms, so “you can watch wherever you are, whenever you like to watch”.

Also, Ultraman will again conquer the stage in Genting Highland, Malaysia starting November until early January 2017, after a successful live stage show last year.

Upon hearing this, fans asked about the possibility of staging the show in the country, which Yokohama answered with, “Yes, that’s the next plan”.
