Toni Gonzaga does not know Alex Gonzaga would become a housemate (abscbnpr.com)
“Pinoy Big Brother All In” host Toni Gonzaga denied being privy to her sister Alex Gonzaga’s surprise inclusion as “PBB” housemate this season, after the latter was identified early on as one of the show’s co-hosts.
Toni revealed on “Aquino & Abunda Tonight” Monday that “ang nakakaalam talaga, ang nagkaroon ng secret negotiation diyan ang mommy ko.”
She added, “Noong una rin ayaw ng mommy ko kaya lang they were saying ‘pwede siyang maging house guest,’ ganyan, kasi nakita nila na maingay siya, magulo. Nakita nila ‘yung personality (ni Alex).”
Toni only has one fear with her younger sister now inside the “PBB” house – that she might fall in love with a fellow housemate, citing, “Madali siyang (Alex) ma-defocus (‘pag in love).”
The Gonzagas have moved to a new house and Toni feels quite lonely without Alex around.
“Actually, hindi pa kami tapos, naglilipat kami ng mga gamit, eh, nakulong siya (Alex) doon (sa Bahay ni Kuya) so ako mag-isa ang gumagawa. Tapos ‘yung door namin, sa wall may door na connecting two rooms. Ganoon na kami ngayon so mas ramdam mo na walang tao sa kabilang kuwarto,” she said.
Scripted?
Many people on social media think that this year’s edition of “Pinoy Big Brother” is scripted and that the housemates were pre-selected and chosen not from the batch of auditionees.
Although Toni said “welcome lang kami sa lahat ng issues, controversies,” she admitted discussing the matter with show director Lauren Dyogi.
“Sabi ko, ‘lolo ayan na naman tayo. Scripted daw tayo.’ Sabi ni direk Lauren, ‘Hindi ka pa ba nasanay? Season one pa lang, wala pang social media binabatikos na ang programang ito.’”
Toni maintained they held auditions, noting “nagpakita kami ng clips.”
On claims that the housemates show no diversity as they are all seemingly rich and pretty, Toni reacted, “Hindi naman ako ‘yung management, hindi naman ako ang nag-screen sa lahat.”
“But what I know is ang hinahanap talaga sa ‘PBB’ (ay) ‘yung may personality, may character that stands out among the rest and may interesting story that they can tell.”
When Boy Abunda asked her if she misses Mariel Rodriguez, her co-host in previous seasons of the show, Toni answered, “Yes, doon sa bahay namin, doon sa dressing room namin siyempre may kulang. It’s almost a year or almost two years, two seasons na hindi namin siya kasama. (But) you always have to move on, you have to adopt to a new environment.”
When the conversation veered towards Paul Soriano, her boyfriend of more than five years, Toni offered, “Wala ngayon si Paul. Umalis siya this morning. He called me up kanina, this morning.”
Kris Aquino, in an effort to coax Toni to divulge details about their rumored wedding plans, asked, “Ano ‘yung sinabi mo sa akin noong nasa dressing room tayo?”
“‘Wag muna,” Toni wailed. Then, she said, “Not this year. Naku, not this year!”
