The Philippines will host the three-day 21st Asian Professional Security Association (APSA) International Conference starting today at the bayside Manila Hotel.

Themed “Strengthening Unity and Cooperation Toward the Attainment of Peace and Prosperity,” the event aims to establish better cooperation and unity among APSA members, guests, and participants.

This year, Japan will be added to the 10 country members – the Philippines, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam – which host the event in rotation each year.

The event’s organizer, SecuSafe Alliance Philippines, partnered with the De La Salle-College of St. Benilde School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies (SDEAS) to encourage attendees to include the concerns of Persons with Disability (PWDs) in planning and implementing safety and security, especially in times of disaster; to promote deaf employment among the attendees; and to raise awareness about PWDs.
