Tech gaint microsoft has updated Skype for iOS by launching Skype6.6 for iphone and ipad.The new version adds a number of multi-tasking features for the iOS devices to make multi-tasking with Skype a bit easier.
The Skype team on skype Blog says,When we’re on our phones and tablets we’re often doing several things at once, from researching a holiday, planning nights out, sending emails or messaging friends – we switch in and out of the apps that help us get things done. Today we’re pleased to launch Skype 6.6 for iPhone and iPad, a new version that helps make multi-tasking with Skype a little bit easier.
The Skype Blog offers all details reagarding new updates.Users can now quickly set up calender events,start calls and check loactions directly from an instant message.One will notice that the phone numbers,addresses,times and dates are now highlighted.
A highlighted address will also take you straight to Apple maps and a highlighted phone number will open the Skype dial-pad to immediately start a Skype call to a phone number.However, user needs to be sure to add some Skype credit to their account.
Added to this if a user taps on a highlighted date or time,it will open the calender app.The event will be automatically set up by the Skype using the details from the chat.Skype will also add a skype chat URL in the calender notes which will be working perfectly if a user is setting up a call remainder.User needs to simply open the event and tap on the chat URL to get straight back to your chat.
The new app also makes it easy to multitask. Users can get back to an active Skype audio call or video call from the instant messages or contact list by simply tapping the active call banner to jump straight back to the call. when you’re in an instant message conversation, you will see an unread message counter at the top of the conversation. You can press ‘back’ to see what you’ve missed out.
