We are currently looking for a Publications and Marketing Officer to join our Marketing and Communications team of 7. This role will be responsible for the daily management of Individual Giving fundraising campaigns, maximising income whilst providing consistent, high-quality supporter care and management.
The successful candidate should have demonstratable experience of working in marketing / communications environment and a good working understanding of marketing practices especially website and design, donor development and fundraising and direct mail developments. They should be Creative, well organised and detail orientated.

Hours: 35 a week, Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5pm
Annual Leave: 25 days per year, plus 8 public holidays, pro rata.
Salary: £23,000 – £28,000

Principal Responsibility
To take responsibility for the daily management of Individual Giving fundraising campaigns, maximising income whilst providing consistent, high-quality supporter care and management.
Duties
• With The Head of Marketing & Communications, develop and implement an appropriate marketing strategy and action plan with the aim of increasing the number of individual givers and developing levels of giving from existing donors.
• Deliver the donor recruitment strategy, ensuring that the long term income and return on investment is optimised across all individual giving channels.
• Manage the programme of appeals (on and offline), magazines and e-newsletters, donor recruitment and development; keep abreast of trends within charity fundraising and maintain an innovative programme of testing new fundraising techniques; and manage the strategic planning and budgeting process in respect of the above activity.
• Manage the mailing activity and associated data selections to optimise the communications received by each donor, ensuring that, where possible, communications acknowledge each donor’s particular relationship with the charity.
• Manage the communications programme for our prospects via various channels including website, events, reception with the aim to convert them to donors.
• Lead on the annual development of the retail range and Christmas catalogue.
• Create Corporate Communications such as our Annual Report and information leaflets as and when required.
• Work with external suppliers such as designers, printers and media buyers to pull together integrated marketing campaigns.
• With the Donor Development & Database Officer create a comprehensive programme of research and results analysis which will inform the direct marketing programme and lead to improvements in overall performance.
• Keep fully abreast of developments and new techniques in direct marketing and fundraising and ensure full use of such innovations.
• Manage one direct report, our Fundraising assistant, who supports the team.

Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.

Experience of Direct Marketing.
Knowledge
