Although there’s no official news from Gibson yet, a list of new Gibson guitars and basses for 2017 recently appeared on amazon.com. We noticed some interesting, eye-catching new colors like Green Ocean Burst and Blueberry Burst, and new ‘Ultra-Modern’ weight relief as a feature on the new Les Paul Standard models.

So what’s new for Gibson in 2017? We have listed some noticeable specs.
Les Paul Standard T 2017
The fingerboard on the Les Paul Standard T model for 2017 has a compound radius and the guitar has an asymmetrical Slim Taper neck profile. There’s a coil-split function on both pickups. With the tone control for the bridge pickup, you can bypass the electronics and send the signal directly to your guitar amp. Tapping the tone knob for the neck pickup will reverse the phase.
The flat ring around the pickup selector switch and the pickguard are removed from these new models.
Les Paul Traditional T 2017
The Les Paul Traditional T models don’t have weight relief, but they do feature two Burstbucker pickups and orange drop capacitors. The neck profile on these guitars is a little more rounded compared to the Standard necks.
Les Paul Classic 2017
There are two Zebra ’57 Classic pickups with a PAF-like voicing in the Les Paul Classic 2017 model. Other features include Grover locking tuners, an aluminium stopbar and an ABR bridge.
Les Paul Studio 2017
The popular Les Paul Studio models feature a slim taper neck profile and the new Ultra-Modern weight relief. A 490R and a 498T pickup deliver the sound and both pickups have a coil split function.
Les Paul Faded T 2017
The 2017 version of these more affordable Les Pauls features a new Faded Gloss finish, and 490R and 490T humbuckers.

Les Paul Tribute T 2017
This vintage looking, affordable LP is available in Satin Gold Top and Faded Honey Burst. The maghogany body has a maple top. The guitar features nickel hardware, weight relief and a satin finish.
SG Standard T 2017
The new SG Standard features Classic ’57 humbuckers and Grover locking tuners.
SG Faded T 2017
The SG Faded has a thicker rosewood fretboard. It features the same new Faded Gloss finish as the Les Paul Faded, a slim taper neck profile and 490R and 490T humbuckers with Alnico magnets.
Firebird Studio T 2017
The new Firebird Studio guitars now have full-sized 496R and 496T humbucker pickups. They will be available in the colors Pelham Blue and Vintage Sunburst.
Flying V 2017
Two Dirty Fingers pickups are what’s new on the iconic Flying V model.
EB4 and EB5 basses 2017
The EB model bass guitar has a new shape for 2017. There’s a 4-string and a 5-string version. The new EB basses feature a Babicz Full Contact bridge, Grover tuners and two powerful EB Rhythm and Lead humbuckers.
