Tom Brady, arguably the best-known star of the National Football League (NFL) is now on Instagram and he appears to be carefully crafting a scripted playful image of himself as much as he does on Facebook.

The 39-year-old quarterback of the New England Patriots, joined the photo-sharing app on January 7 posting a picture of himself enjoying the snow.

He captioned his first ever post on Instagram by saying that people can take the boy out of California but he thinks people took the California out of the boy, reports ET Online.

Tom Brady and the New England Patriots were off during the weekend that he joined Instagram as the team awaited the results of the wild-card playoff games.

With Peyton Manning already about to ride the sunset, Brady becomes the best-known star of the league and analysts believe that he will be projecting a playful image on Instagram the same way he or his handlers are doing on his Facebook account, notes Yahoo! Sports.

Indicative of his popularity, Tom Brady already topped 300,000 in just the account’s first hour on Instagram.

A tough choice for Brady

Opening an Instagram account was a top choice for Tom Brady after announcing his decision via Facebook Live.

He was quoted as expressing his gratitude to all his Facebook fans for their incredible support as he set his sight on a second social media network.

Brady added that his fans have been so incredibly helpful with their suggestions and their thoughts and he just narrowed it down to four choices, namely Myspace, Twitter, Instagram, and Twitter.

He obviously picked Instagram from the four when he hinted before that he is ready to make the choice. He said during his Facebook Live session that after giving it a careful thought, he has chosen Instagram.

While the NFL star is just getting used to Instagram, he has been getting pointers from his teacher who is no other than his model wife, Gisele Bundchen.

14 seasons as a starter

After playing college football for the University of Michigan, Tom Brady was drafted by the New England Patriots in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL Draft.

In his 14 seasons as a starter, the Patriots have earned six trips to the Super Bowl, which is the most for any quarterback in history, winning four titles.

Brady has won three Super Bowl MVPs during Super Bowl XXXVI, Super Bowl XXXVIII, and Super Bowl XLIX. He also had two league MVP awards in 2007 and in 2010.

He has been selected to 12 Pro Bowls and has led his team to more division titles, numbering to 14, than any other quarterback in NFL history.

As of the start of the 2016 season, Brady was fifth all-time in career passing yards, tied for third in career touchdown passes, and sixth in career passer rating.

His career postseason record is 23-9. He has won more playoff games than any other quarterback and appeared in more playoff games than any player at any position.

His 206 combined regular season and postseason wins are also the most of any quarterback in NFL history. Because of his accomplishments and accolades, many analysts and sportswriters consider Brady to be among the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history.

However, for his alleged involvement in the highly publicized Deflategate football tampering scandal, Brady was suspended for the first four games of the 2016 NFL season.

Tom Brady was a lightly regarded prospect coming out of college. He has subsequently played his entire professional career with the Patriots and has enjoyed a distinguished and decorated career.

With Brady playing quarterback, the Patriots have never had a losing season, have won 14 division titles, and played in a remarkable 10 AFC Championship Games from 2001 to 2015, including five in a row from 2011 to 2015, winning six of them.

Brady took over as the starting quarterback in his second season after an injury to Drew Bledsoe and eventually led the Patriots to victory during the Super Bowl XXXVI.
