The first Star Wars standalone film, Rogue One is set to hit the theaters in less than a month’s time. The anticipation of the fans is high and hence EA is working hard to release Star Wars: Battlefront during the same time. According to Digital Trends, EA is planning on releasing the new content for Battlefront by 6th December.

The primary reason for the excitement surrounding the game is the VR element introduced in the game. The owners of Star Wars: Battlefront will be able to download the new PlayStation VR exclusive DLC.

The new DLC will place the players in charge of the X-Wing Starfighter. They will be able to sit in the cockpit and fly it. The players get to control the X-Wing and even dive bomb the Death Star. The mission is free for the players who have all the add-ons from Star Wars: Battlefront.

The DLC will not only introduce the VR experience for the players but will also add new maps and characters from the upcoming Rogue One film.

Star Wars: Battlefront is celebrating its first anniversary with these special surprises for the users. Star Wars: Battlefront Rogue One will bring in new playable characters. Orson Krennic and Jyn Erso will be the two new playable characters.

Jyn Erso is the protagonist in Rogue One. She has a dark past but is a skilled operative. She will be a good player to play with since her experience comes handy when fighting for the Rebel Alliance. Those who are on the side of the Empire can play with Orson Krennic. Krennic, on the other hand, is in the Imperial army. He will be tasked with the job to stop any attempt at sabotaging the Death Star.

The new DLC doesn’t break the pattern of the original game but introduces many more interesting things. There are four new maps that the players can destroy. The introduction of the new maps with the DLC will be the first glimpse at a detailed layout of Scarif. The fans aren’t aware of Scarif yet since Rogue One will introduce the planet to the Star Wars universe.

The little that the viewers could make out from the photos from the set shows a planet that is entirely different from the locations used in Star Wars: Battlefront. The release of Star Wars: Battlefront Rogue One Scarif on the 6th of December, will help the fans find out about Scarif before the film releases ten days later.

Based on the 16th December movie, the final Star Wars: Battlefront add-on will include ground and space combat in a brand-new mode. Star Wars: Battlefront was highly successful as a multiplayer shooting game with the thrills and audiovisual treats.

As a celebration of the first anniversary of Star Wars: Battlefront, players, were able to access the expansion packs for Death Star, Bespin and Outer Rim without any charge for the whole weekend. The players will also get a chance to earn extra credits doing the weekend.

The free expansions include all the maps and models. The only catch for the surprise is that the players would require a PlayStation Plus or an Xbox Live Gold account before they can access these contents for free.

Those who have purchased all the add-ons from Star Wars: Battlefront will get the opportunity to enjoy these surprises and treats.

Those who have the Xbox One or PS 4 and haven’t played Star Wars: Battlefront before, can purchase the Ultimate Edition pack that includes all the add-ons along with the base game. The Ultimate Edition pack will help the gamers get right back on track to enjoy the Rogue One extension.
