The Korean tech giant has officially launched the Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro in March this year but the handset started making it to the global smartphone retail markets beginning in April, just like the timeline for the company’s current flagship smartphones – the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge.

More than six months into the market, the mid-range smartphone is still generating positive reviews from mostly satisfied consumers.

Given its price point of $500, the Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro is indeed a bargain for its great features and specifications.

Two of the most lauded features of the handset are its very rich look, in terms of design, and an amazing battery which have truly kept its users contented and happy with the Samsung Galaxy A9, reports Mobile & Apps.

It may be brute, design-wise, compared to Samsung’s high-end smartphones, but the Galaxy A9 Pro more than made up for it in a lot of ways. Another major downside for the mid-range handset is its single SIM variant, which is surprising in its segment.

Features and specifications

The Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro has a six-inch IPS LCD HD touchscreen with 1,080 x 1920 resolution.

It features a 16-MP fundamental camera with LED flash, autofocus, and digital zoom features. It is also capable of recording full HD videos at 30 frames per second. It also has an 8-MP front-facing camera ideal for taking selfies and video calling while using different applications.

There is also the Fingerprint ID that goes about as a need source in everyday errands. When it came out more than six months ago, the Galaxy A9 Pro was loaded with Androdi 6.0 Marshmallow and it is likely that the handset would have its free upgrade to Android 7.0 Nougat once Samsung gives the green light for the rollout of the latest mobile OS from Google for its latest devices.

The Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro is also being powered by a generous 4,000 mAh lithium-polymer or li-po non-removable battery which renders a decent measure of reinforcement for heavy users.

Connectivity options for the Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC, FM, 3G, and 4G.

An improvement from an earlier model

The Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro actually came out about several months after the release of the Galaxy A9, which was launched earlier this year.

After Samsung’s debacle that was the Galaxy S5 back in 2014, the Korean tech company has since opted on using metal in its smartphones.

In fact, metal has become the new plastic when it comes to handset design not only for Samsung but also the major smartphone makers in the world.

The design of the Samsung Galaxy A9 is actually part of its selling points that critics describe it as a solid and significant smartphone.

The Galaxy A9 features an elegant glass exterior and it looks really fancy. It comes in three different colors including white, gold, and pink gold. The metal side frame is colored appropriately for the three variations of the Galaxy A9.

Samsung has also gone the extra mile of smoothing out all the edges, resulting in a phone that feels genuinely good in the hand.

The Galaxy A9 is powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor and comes with a 3GB of RAM. It also packs a 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card.

It has a 6-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080 pixels x 1920 pixels. The Galaxy A9 packs a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and an 8-megapixel front snapper.
