The final season of “Reign” is shaping up to be its most satisfying one and lead star Adelaide Kane sure knows how to drop a huge bomb to fans.

The 26-year-old actress, who plays Queen Mary, was recently interviewed on what fans can expect for the upcoming season of “Reign.”

Kane says that someone will fall sick and become crazy. She was keen on giving more details, but she reiterates that the character really gets overboard crazy just like King Henry back in Season 1.

Fans have now been suspecting who this certain character will be, with many suggesting that it will be Megan Follows’ Catherine de Medici now that she is almost out of power in France.

In Season 3, when Prince Charles returned to the French court, he successfully ousts his mother as regent. She then retaliated by parading her third son, Henry, who is next in line to the throne.

It will be an interesting plot for Catherine de Medici, who has been the show’s protagonist for the past three seasons.

While her and Mary’s dynamic is quite unique, if she ever gets crazy, it will be interesting how Mary will take care of her former mother-in-law.

Kane added that Mary will also have some big issues with her second husband, Lord Darnley, played by Will Kemp. She adds that Mary and Lord Darnley will have a power struggle.

Aside from a character going crazy, Kane says that Mary will give birth to a baby boy, King James. However, fans are most speculative if the show will end with Mary’s execution just like what happened in real life.

In history, Mary was ordered to be executed after being revealed to be the person behind Queen Elizabeth’s assassination plot. Fans believe that Lola’s death was already a foreshadowing of how the series will end for the Queen of Scots.

The Australian actress teases that the final season of The CW historical drama is more death-packed compared to the previous seasons.

Adelaide says that the deaths in the season will be figurative, pointing to an end of friendship, political ties, and other relationships.

The fourth season of “Reign” is expected to witness the Queen of Scots pulling off her revenge on Rachel Skarsten’s Queen Elizabeth.

Fans will remember that during the Season 3 finale, Elizabeth had Lola executed after she was revealed to have conspired with a Scottish assassin to kill her.

Upon learning of Lola’s death, she vowed to take on Elizabeth’s thrown and asks Gideon to help her. As for Elizabeth, she asks Robert Dudley to marry her but is dismayed to learn that he has already married Lettice Knollys.

While the tension between the two queens will come to a head in the coming season, TV Line reports that fans will see a slightly different side of Mary, especially since she’s driven with the motive to avenge Lola’s death.

The last season of the historical drama will premiere on February 10 for 16 episodes. The season premiere is titled “With Friends like These.” The series was announced to end after Season 4 last month after months of speculation.

Many were surprised when the show was greenlit for a fourth season when the show’s ratings have been going down since the second season. The third season was also given a midseason premiere and an 18-episode order, a sign that it’s heading for cancellation.

Most of the show’s characters have also left after the third season. Toby Regbo, who played King Francis left after the third episode of Season 3 with the demise of his character.

Anna Popplewell, Jonathan Keltz, and Torrance Coombs, who played Lola, Leith, and Bash, respectively, also left the show after the third season.
