Japanese game developer Atlus has already confirmed that the role-playing game “Persona 5” would be officially released on the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 3 in North America and Europe on April 4, 2017.

The game has already been released early this year in Japan and has sold over 500,000 copies, making it one of the best-selling games in the country for 2016.

To add to the excitement and enthusiasm of gamers in the west, Atlus recently released a new trailer for “Persona 5” with a focus on Haru Okumura, the obedient daughter of a wealthy businessman. She is a member of the Phantom Thieves.

The trailer also includes a video interview with the character’s voice actress Xanthe Huynh, notes Gematsu.

A passionate member of the Phantom Thieves

As an obedient daughter of an affluent businessman, it is surprising that Haru Okumura is a passionate and dedicated member of the Phantom Thieves.

While she grew up with all the elegance and splendor that money could buy, it nonetheless came at the cost of her freedom, details Niche Gamer.

She has grown up always being told what to do, how to think, and was generally an obedient girl all throughout.

But when she got acquainted with the Phantom Thieves, she has learned to break out of her gilded cage and fly free. She is codenamed as Noir in the Phantom Thieves. She is truly a kindhearted person and wants to change the world for the better and ensure that justice always prevails.

A previous Valentine’s Day release date

The April 4 release date of “Persona 5” on the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 3 is actually a month and a half push-back from the game’s previously announced rollout date of February 14, 2017.

It was John Hardin, Atlus PR Manager, who made the announcement on the new release date of “Persona 5” last month. He explained that the game has set the gold standard for Atlus with its launch in Japan this year and the company wanted to put the utmost care into ensuring “Persona 5” winds up as the best when it finally launches in the west.

Hardin also said that in order to make up for the push-back in the release date of “Persona 5,” the game shall come out with a dual audio for PS4 and PS3. He added that the feature shall be including the feature as a DLC but will be free forever.

While fans extend their wait for the release of “Persona 5,” they should content themselves with the game’s teasers and trailers which Atlus has been releasing from time to time.

The latest “Persona 5” trailer shows Ryuji Sakamoto, a former athlete who suffered an injury that ended what would have been a promising career for him due to inhumane training conditions set by his coach, Kamoshida, who pushed him over the edge.

Another trailer also revealed about Ann Takamaki, a character that has suffered as a center of attention among the gossip-mongers in school.

Ann’s suffering has led her to become an outcast, which makes her one of the most interesting characters in “Persona 5.”

Erika Harlacher brings Ann’s character to life as its voice actress, who joins the ranks of many other as equally talented voice actors behind “Persona 5” characters.

Atlus had previewed an extended gameplay footage of “Persona 5” at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 at the Los Angeles Convention Center held in June.

Though the video did not come out as professional quality, it turned out to be a must-see for all “Persona 5” fans as it gives gamers a glimpse of the much-awaited game.
