With Wyatt Isabelle, her first baby with husband Ashton Kutcher, turning a year old recently, Mila Kunis is obviously ready to work and face the cameras again.

It seems like her return to the big screen will be off to a roaring start as she has been confirmed to do a comedy movie about mothers with Christina Applegate and Kristen Bell. Like her, Christina and Kristen are also certified mothers.

The three are already excited to start working for the movie reportedly to be produced by STX Entertainment and to be written and directed by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore.

Lucas and Moore wrote the script for the surprise comedy hit “The Hangover,” which pulled off an unexpected box-office success in 2009 that it resulted to two sequels. With the duo behind the upcoming movie featuring Kunis, Applegate, and Bell, many believe that they will duplicate their feat on “The Hangover” because the upcoming film is almost like its female version, in terms of fun and comedy delivery.

The original movie

The movie project used to be called as “Bad Moms” and it would have starred Leslie Mann. It was also to be produced by Judd Apatow for Paramount Pictures, notes The Hollywood Reporter.

But it did not push through as Mann and Apatow eventually left and abandon the plan. Sensing the potential of the plot, STX Entertainment stepped in and decided to pick up the project with Mila Kunis, Christina Applegate, and Kristen Bell taking the lead roles that were previously meant for Leslie Mann and a few others.

However, STX Entertainment decided to do away with the “Bad Moms” movie title. The production company has yet to come up with a new title for the movie, but the overall plot would likely remain the same.

Mila Kunis is expected to play the role of the overachieving mother with a seemingly perfect life who is very close from cracking up. Realizing that she has had enough of her seemingly boring life, she decided to join two other overstressed mothers, and they went on a quest to liberate themselves from their conventional responsibilities.

They did not actually turn south, but they went on to become women unmindful of their motherly responsibilities by enjoying their self-induced freedom and fun to do everything that they want without caring much about their obligations.

Their transformation had them on a collision course with the PTA Queen Bee and her blindly devoted bunch of so-called perfect mothers. Their mind games are where most of the fun in the movie is centered analogous to a bully getting his comeuppance from the same person or persons he used to bully a lot before.

Hilarious real-life situation

STX Entertainment is confident that the strong female roles of Mila, Christina, and Kristen will be a surefire hit among viewers.

Oren Aviv, president and CCO of STX Entertainment, says that Jon Lucas and Scott Moore are masters at creating reliable characters that audiences instantly embrace. He explains that the duo put characters in hilarious real-life situations for great comedic results.

He added that the upcoming film will provide a rare opportunity for a half-dozen strong female lead roles and STX Entertainment is likewise thrilled for being able to assemble an exceptional cast too.

Aviv said that as much as the crew and the cast members are excited to start working on the production of the movie, he said that they too can hardly wait to start production and be part of the magic that the team will bring to the screen.

It will be the first time that Mila, Christina, and Kristen would work together in one movie, but Mila was able to work with Kristen back in 2008 already in the movie “Forgetting Sarah Marshall.”
