The cross-over role-playing game “Kingdom Hearts 3” is not going to come out of the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One this year.
That is already sure when Japanese game developer Square Enix announced a few months ago that it is going to be “Kingdom Hearts 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue” that is going to come out on the gaming consoles in December this year.
Latest rumors have it that the Kairi will be joining Sora, Donald Duck, Goofy, Riku, and King Mickey as playable characters when the game finally unfolds next year, reports the Christian Times.
The same speculations are also saying that there will be other playable characters in “Kingdom Hearts 3” though everything remains as speculation pending the confirmation or denial from Square Enix.
The rumors about Kairi becoming a playable character in “Kingdom Hearts 3” started going around when it was revealed in “Kingdom Hearts 2” that Kairi could potentially become a Keyblade master.
The same reports are also saying that Kairi shall become Sora’s love interest in the upcoming game. She will also be putting on display her uncanny skills in the third installment of the game.
Coming to the PC but not on the Xbox One?
Incidentally, there are now reports going around that “Kingdom Hearts 3” might finally come out on the PC, in addition to its likely release on the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.
According to some reports, Square Enix shall reportedly start working on the game development for the PC platform very soon, reports the Parent Herald.
Some critics note that while it is a huge possibility, Square Enix has yet to confirm or deny the rumors.
In contrast to the rumors that “Kingdom Hearts 3” shall be coming to the PC, there were also speculations that went around recently that the game might not come out on the Xbox One.
The rumors started going around when the game was taken out from the list of games to be featured on Xbox Live Japan. It was supposed to be included at the event but it was mysteriously taken off the list.
The reports sent fans of “Kingdom Hearts 3,” especially those on the Xbox One, into a frenzy because they thought that the new title is now going to be a Sony exclusive.
However, Square Enix came out recently to tell fans not to worry too much because the game is already back in the list of Xbox Live Japan.
The best game in the series
Tetsuya Nomura, game director of the “Kingdom Hearts” franchise recently stated that the upcoming “Kingdom Hearts 3” shall be the best game in the series.
In addition, he also said that it shall be overwhelmingly big fitting the conclusion of the video game series, Apparently, “Kingdom Hearts 3” shall be the last in the franchise, according to speculations.
In a recent interview with a Japanese gaming magazine, Nomura revealed that he actually did not spread the story out but more on separating the parts that would have ruined the tempo of “Kingdom Hearts 3” if they were told back then.
He explained that the game shall have a short intro and it will immediately start, hoping that even first time players would be able to follow along and start the game with nary a problem.
However, Nomura also advised players that it would be better for them to play first “Kingdom Hearts 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue” before diving into “Kingdom Hearts 3” as it would serve as the perfect pre-requisite for them to really appreciate and understand the plotline of the upcoming game.
Co-director Tai Yasue also confirmed that “Kingdom Hearts 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue” will serve as the elaborate introduction for the third installment.
He said that game developer Square Enix will release the “Kingdom Hearts 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue” in December this year before “Kingdom Hearts 3” finally makes it to the gaming consoles in the first half of next year.
