After nearly three months of self-imposed sabbatical from social media following a robbery incident in Paris, France in October last year, Kim Kardashian returned with a flourish to where she is obviously good at.
She made her return to Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat on January 3 and based on the numbers and the impressions she generated, she is still the old Kim Kardashian, regarded by critics and fans as the queen of social media.
The reality star posted pictures, tweets, and messages on January 3 on the three social media platforms. She also started posting updates on her website and app on the same day.
Accordingly, after posting on Snapchat, her snaps had already 42.8 million views, which is almost a record in the social media platform, reports MTV.
Meanwhile, in the 24 hours after posting several images on Instagram, Kim Kardashian already generated four million likes.
But nothing can be more impressive than her impressions on Twitter when she was able to get a total of 84 million impressions in 24 hours, which meant that 84 million people have all seen and read her tweet that day.
Her return to social media has also dislodged her sister Kylie Jenner from temporarily reigning the platforms while big sister Kim was on sabbatical.
Breaking her extended silence
Kim Kardashian broke her silence on social media on January 3 with two family-centric posts on her website and Instagram accounts, and in the days since, has shared quite a few more glimpses into her life post-robbery.
After updating her Twitter and Instagram profile pictures, she posted a sweet home video of her family, which featured footage of her cuddling with husband Kanye West, going snow tubing with daughter North, and showing son Saint taking his first steps.
Along with the video, which she shared a few hours later on Twitter, Kim posted an Instagram photo of herself with Kanye and their children, wearing matching white outfits, which she simply captioned as ‘Family.’
The next day, she posted another photo on Instagram, this time featuring herself holding Saint, alongside the heart-filled caption, ‘My son.’
Later that day, she officially returned to Snapchat with her now-signature type of posts, featuring a shot of her artfully destroyed jeans, which she captioned ‘Torn’ and a selfie.
Her first selfie for the year
The snapshot, which she noted was her first selfie of 2017, showed Kim with her mother, Kris Jenner, throwing up a peace sign and rocking a lip ring that she was first spotted wearing at the family’s Christmas Eve party.
Towards the end of the same week, Kim made up for lost time by posting more adorable photos of Saint and North to her website and app, offering, even more, glimpses into what family time at the Kardashian-West household is like, details People.
In one picture, North, wearing a white sundress, offers her hand to lead her little brother, wearing a tiny red sweatshirt and pants, while in another, she and her father goof around outside.
The reality star followed that up with another photo of her children, in which North appears to be tending to her baby brother; and Kim captioned with heart emojis. Kim also posted a picture of herself gazing down at Saint, while he plays out of frame.
In addition to giving fans some insight into the Kardashian West’s sweet home life, the new photos seem to be hinting at a new style phase for the reality star, one that features waist-length, straight hair, relaxed clothes and some edgy accessories.
In the weeks since her return, Kim Kardashian has offered followers, even more, glimpses into her personal life, including tweeting about dealing with psoriasis on her face, and cheering on her mother, Kris Jenner, while she hosted a Golden Globes pre-show on E!
Mostly, though, she has been posting photos of herself and her family on her social media channels and on her website. The snapshots include pictures of West eating and ones of her watching Saint and North play.
The photos posted by Kim on her social media platforms also debunk speculations that she and husband Kanye West are divorcing.
