Medical mandate protest planned for Saturday. PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — A local rally, coinciding with a national rally, is being planned on Saturday, Aug. 28 protesting medical mandates in relation to COVID-19. The rally will be held on the lawn of the Mason County Courthouse (note, this location was changed). Event organizer Jennie Wilson said the event is in protest of medical mandates, such as mask wearing requirements or vaccination status requirements. “I am standing up for truth,” Wilson said. “I am fighting for our right to just say no. I want to ignite a fire within people to get out and fight for our right to choose. There are rights that are forcefully being taken away. I want others to see that we can be united and fearlessly fight against medical tyranny in a world paralyzed by fear. “We are given free will but people have become complacent due to fear mongering.
