Meet Annie, the editor of Mashable’s home to web culture and everything viral, Watercooler. You might recognize her radiant smile from a box of Tofurky.

Annie, a vegetarian, clearly loves her tofu.

But even if you’re not into Thanksgiving meat substitutes, you probably already saw Annie Colbert — pronounced Bert as in Ernie and Bert, and not Stephen Colbert — from different places around the web. She spent the past five years up to her eyeballs in web culture, working as the Managing Editor at Guy Kawasaki’s AllTop and as a Ghost Twitter-er. Her work in social media was highlighted in the press, including profiles in Wired, the New York Times and a Swiss newspaper with a name she claims she can’t pronounce.

Work aside, Annie likes collecting experiences that make for good stories at cocktail parties. These include bathing with a one-legged elephant in Thailand, traveling with her Cabbage Patch Kid to 28 countries, and having Isaiah Mustafa — otherwise known as ‘the Old Spice Guy’ — post a photo of her dressed as a Scrabble tile on Instagram.

Annie currently lives with her husband and two cats in the Lower East Side. Read more about her on her website and join us in welcoming her on Twitter.
