This location is a training facility for GE Healthcare employees and customers. The Assistant Chief Engineer position is unique in the fact that the ACE oversees the janitorial staff that cleans the training complex as well as the facility loading dock. This is in addition to oversight of the engineering staff that maintains the condos.

Qualifications:
Qualifications:

· Three to five years of leadership experience in an Engineering department.

· Proven experience in all phases of facility maintenance, to include HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mechanical & appliance repair.

· Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, as well as a valid driver’s license.

· Three to five years of experience in leading EHS processes and programs in conjunction with OSHA regulatory compliance.

· Proven experience in team building and process improvement.

· Knowledge of shipping and receiving is helpful, but not required.

· Experienced with Microsoft Office products, computer literacy required.

Major Functions:

· Manage the daily engineering operations as directed by the Director of Engineering to include scheduling, inventory acquisition and control, and quality inspections.

· Completing performance reviews, facilitating training and administering coaching when necessary.

· Facilitate the use of defect tracking software to reduce problems at the hotel.

· Serve as a back up in the event the Director of Engineering is absent.

· Serve as a back up in the event the Loading Dock Operator is absent.

· Facilitate and administer various safety programs in conjunction with the GE teams, to include Chemical management, JSA management, LOTO management, and staff OSHA compliance training.

· Complete daily inspections of subordinate areas, to ensure task completion and product quality at the Conference Center.

· Complete a daily walk through, inspecting for defects as well as safety hazards, at the Condominiums. Participate on the GE Inspection team and coordinate Marriott inspections.

· Respond to any applicable emergencies as directed by the Director of Engineering. Have a working knowledge of life safety systems, to include fire alarm and sprinkler systems.

· Assist with department HR functions.

Seasonal & Minor Responsibilities:

· Assist in discretionary removal of trash around the grounds.

· Removal of snow & ice from high traffic walkways and entryways.

· Assist in product transportation between buildings when necessary.

· Assist with other non-routine requests from GE as directed.

Physical Demands:

· Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

· Must be able to climb a ladder, up to 30 feet.

· Must be qualified to operate, or have the ability to be qualified to operate a Scissors Lift.

· While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and talk or hear. The associate frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The associate is occasionally required to stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and taste or smell.

Additional Requirements/Information:

· Must be very safety oriented, with a basic knowledge of safe work practices, to include Personal Protective Equipment, Hazard Recognition, Chemical Safety, Lock-out Tag-out, MSDS sheets, and proper lifting techniques.

· To be aware of all existing departmental Job Safety Analysis and to strive to work in an accident-free manner and to create a safe work environment for others. To continuously look for conditions that may endanger associates or guests of the hotel and to take immediate action to correct any hazardous conditions found.

· Must not only be a team player, but also be able to work independently with strong initiative and organizational skills.

· Must foster a positive work environment through Marriott’s Spirit to Serve Basics.” Facilitate daily Basics” meetings to the appropriate staff.

· Must have strong communication skills, to include oral and written.

· Must have strong customer service skills.

· Complete all work assigned in a safe and professional manner. Maintain communications with supervisors to ensure that all needed materials, tools and supplies are available or on order. Follow up on any items that may be on back order. Keep the DOE updated on assignments. Provide training and technical advice to other engineers as needed or requested.

· Responsible for upkeep of department tools and storage spaces to include workshops and janitorial closets.

· Be certified, or have the ability to be certified in Basic First Aid, and CPR.
