POSITION SUMMARY
The purpose of this role is to develop, lead and support a world class Product Management Discipline for Marriott’s website, mobile and other digital products, supporting Marriott’s strategies, digital goals and objectives. This role will work closely with key business unit leaders to deliver value to our customers and business units via digital products through strong product leadership. This position serves as a key influencer across multiple Digital Business Units to establish best in class product management for Marriott, recruit new talent for the business units as needed, and establish and oversee product management training as well as mentoring existing product managers. Other responsibilities include setting criteria for hiring top product management talent, setting standards and approaches for product management practices, and growing next generation talent for the organization. Another key aspect of this role is to serve as a key cultural change agent, bringing modern product management and agile values into the organization culture. This person will work closely with peers in Program Management and Project Management to identify and help solve product management related issues that cross multiple products and business units, to ensure Marriott.com and the digital products achieve a holistic experience for our customers.

Qualifications:
EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS
Development of World-Class Global Products and Services
• Establish a Product Management Discipline in a matrix environment resulting in high-performance teams and exceptional revenue growth
• Provide guidance and leadership to Product Managers in all areas of product management, including back log grouping and prioritization, checking in with teams on progress and setting progress criteria to benchmark product quality
• Develop and manage communications out to other groups and business units within Marriott about Product Management
• Contribute to the continued development of an agile culture, influencing the product management leaders on the ground on dual-track agile teams to achieve breakthrough results
• Contribute as a change agent to the organizational culture, bringing product management and agile thinking to all team members and participating on the Agile Leadership team
• Understand and influence the development and continuous evolution of a holistic Digital Product Roadmap, helping pull through priorities across multiple products
• Partner with leaders from the Digital Business Units, Digital Development, IT, User Research and UX to contribute to roadmap planning and execution across multiple products and business units
• Contribute holistic thinking and leadership to how we orchestrate all our products to deliver a holistic high quality product for our customers
• Develop criteria for measuring success of product managers and product teams, working closely with the PMO to track and benchmark team effectiveness
• Provide strategic thought leadership using data-driven insights to assess the organization’s capabilities, and create plans to help product management influence the achievement of transformational results for Marriott’s digital products
• Provide guidance of the development of product KPIs, product backlog prioritization and measuring product effectiveness, helping influence the best decision on new features and functionality
• Develop and managing communications out to other groups about Product Management as well as partner with different departments throughout Marriott to leverage product management for new and existing purposes/applications.
• Establish Product Management training and on-going mentorship

• Assist Business Unit leaders with the vetting and hiring of new product managers
• Manage external vendors, when needed, and develop/approve engagements and statements of work within framework of Marriott’s master consulting agreements

CANDIDATE PROFILE - KEY TALENTS AND EXPERIENCE DESIRED
REQUIRED:
Successful candidates should possess knowledge and experience and demonstrate strong leadership and relationship skills as follows:
• 8 years experience in software product management, 10 years Internet experience, experience in mobile, global, personalization, loyalty programs, high volume transactional sites a plus
• Possess robust product management knowledge and skills
• Must possess knowledge and practice of agile approach and agile team dynamics
• Knowledge of mobile and internet technologies and ability to leverage technical capabilities to meet business requirements
• Strong interpersonal and meeting facilitation skills required to lead and manage all team members, internal and external clients, vendors and meetings.
• Strong presentation and communications skills

• Knowledge of Digital strategies

EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION
