JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Product Management, Mobile & Digital Guest Services (MDGS) will help define and drive the strategy and products for Marriott’s growth in mobile commerce and push into the digital guest experience. This position will develop strategy, lead discovery, and help lead design of key product capabilities. In addition, this role will drive product roadmaps and capabilities based on team strategy and vision. This includes developing business cases and funding requests.

This role is cross-functional and will work closely with other departments across the company including engineering, Brand, design, operations, consumer insight and revenue strategy, finance and executive teams to design products, bring them to market and develop business opportunities.This position reports to the Senior Director of MDGS and is global in scope. A successful candidate will be highly analytical, work effectively in a matrix organization, and is adept at synthesizing a variety of technologies and capabilities into high quality, simple products and applications that customers love.

Qualifications:

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education

· 4-year degree from an accredited university in Engineering, Computer Science or Bus. Administration; 7 years of experience in software product management, strategy consulting or a related discipline

OR

· 2-year graduate degree from an accredited university in Engineering, Computer Science, or Bus. Administration; 5 years of experience in software product management, strategy consulting or a related discipline

Desired Experience

· Ideal candidate will have

o Experience/fluency with mobile and digital product management

o Experience in travel and tourism or a retail environment

o Experience writing product user stories and requirements

o Track record of developing strategies, defining execution plans, and gaining company buy-in

o Ability to manage complex digital products through multiple product lifecycles

o High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.

o Ability to think strategically and execute methodically.

o Superior verbal and written communications skills and able to communicate insights to others

o Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is desired through rapid prototyping and pilots

o Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases

o Demonstrated ability to dive deep in understanding product, business, and competition

· Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary; general manager / owner mentality

· 4 years of strategy consulting experience from a leading firm

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

1. Refine strategy and support execution of Marriott’s Mobile and Digital Guest Service vision

a. Design and develop innovations and manage the MDGS strategy and business case

b. Work actively across the company to

i. Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners

ii. Orchestrate execution of the 3 year MDGS plan and roadmap

2. Design Mobile and Digital Guest Service products

a. Define creative, high quality, product roadmaps based on team strategy and vision that

a. Delivers mobile experiences and guest service experiences across multiple customer touch points

b. Ensures new MDGS-enabling technologies are properly identified, vetted, and planned.

c. Supports and enhances business processes for digital guest care, performance enhancement, and problem resolution

b. Develop detailed, crisp requirements and user stories usable to create product specifications

b. Work closely with other teams to deliver products in both an agile and waterfall environments

3. Manage MDGS products and programs

a. Measure and analyze the in-market performance

b. Support business execution and performance of new streams of the DGS program

c. Manage delivery of current products concurrently with future product planning.
