The Vice President - Product Development & Operations for Marriott.com/Marriott Mobile is responsible for leading the design, development, and operations of Marriott.com and its related mobile and international websites. CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience
* 4-year degree from an accredited university in Web Design, Technology, Marketing, Business Administration, or related major; Advanced degree in one of these areas preferred.
* 10 years’ experience leading large product development teams in web and mobile environments
* 15 years’ managerial experience
* Agile development experience preferred
* Mobile development experience preferred
* Strong track record of leadership, innovation, and delivering tangible results for a high-traffic, high-transaction, multi-language online business
* Ease and comfort in working effectively across a large, matrixed organization to drive alignment with Marriott.com / Marriott Mobile strategy. Strong managerial influencing skills across diverse lines of business.
* Demonstrated leadership in building high-performance teams and leading change from within
* Demonstrated track record of defining and implementing web / mobile design and interface standards and leading projects with significant design and technical components
* Experience managing a web/mobile design/development practice preferred

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

* Provide business direction to the overall design, development and operations of Marriott.com / Marriott mobile and related digital assets to advance their competitiveness.
* Lead and manage the Digital Design, Development, and Operations (3DO) Disciplines for Marriott.com and Marriott Mobile, including User Experience, Digital Product / Project Delivery, User Research, Content Strategy, and Web Operations. Ensure 3DO teams deliver high-performance digital/mobile/online experiences for Marriott customers and Business Units.
* Collaborate closely with Digital Business Unit leaders to execute the customer experience visions for Marriott.com and Marriott Mobile, and ensure all 3DO work is on-strategy and consistent with the eCommerce 3 Year Plan, Digital Product Strategies, and related Business Unit and digital marketing strategies.
* Work cross-platform with Digital Business Unit leaders to execute their digital/mobile product strategies, provide resources, and oversee Marriott’s integrated Digital Development Roadmap.
* Set clear business and performance goals/KPIs for 3DO teams to grow revenue for Marriott.com, Marriott Mobile, their constituent Product Lines, and international market segments. Drive a culture of accountability for results.
* Execute Marriott’s multi-million dollar web/mobile/digital product portfolio. Ensure competitive time-to-market and successful delivery of digital products, programs, and projects within budget and schedule.
* Guide the customization and implementation of agile/scrum development methodologies to boost innovation, accelerate speed-to-market, and contain costs for Marriott’s digital product portfolio
* Ensure the quality and integrity of Marriott.com / Marriott mobile / digital platforms, standards, processes and deliverables required to maintain site integrity, create compelling digital customer experiences, and achieve business revenue goals
* Provide business direction to the day-to-day operations, reliability, up-time, and performance of Marriott.com / Marriott mobile platforms. Collaborate with IT/IR Shared Services to ensure operations, overall site performance, content and application management are at high standards to maximize customer experience, minimize deprecations in service delivery (e.g., site outages), and meet revenue targets. Define Service Level Agreements with IR to ensure quality customer experience.
* Partner with IT/Information Resources to provide strategic business direction for technology strategies that will advance the competitiveness of the Marriott.com and the digital customer experience. Participate in defining Marriott’s Internet technology strategy and plan.
* Develop and implement strategies to provide exceptional, timely and cost-efficient Internet Customer-Care for users of Marriott.com / Marriott mobile and its related websites, in partnership with Marriott’s Customer Care contact center teams around the world.
* Leverage Marriott core systems to enable reservations and other site functionality in other languages, and work with IT/IR to ensure their digital-readiness”
* Oversee the recruitment, development, mentoring, and retention of key Marriott.com 3DO staff and leaders
* Regularly communicate with senior management on diverse matters related to Marriott.com, Marriott Mobile, and related websites and digital assetsOversee vendor contracting and management for a multi-million dollar digital product and service portfolio (e.g., interactive agencies, content providers/distributors, graphic and editorial freelancers, consulting firms, customer usability services, etc.).
* Ensure the Digital Design, Development & Operations team meets financial cost-recovery targets
