**Qualifications**

**POSITION SUMMARY**

The Director, Marketing & eCommerce \(Full Service\) leads a team of Marketing Managers and Coordinators to develop and execute property marketing plans\. This responsibility also includes the execution of cross\-regional and cluster plans, providing input into system\-wide plans, ensuring effective pull through and adherence to standards/guidelines, as well as tracking and reporting results\. Key areas of responsibility include property and market support \(Full Service Shared Service hotels\), cross regional support \(Full Service brands\), budgets, establishing and maintaining strategic alliances, and corporate support\.

**EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS**

1\) **Property and Market Support \(Full Service Shared Service hotels\)**

+ Supervise efforts of Marketing Managers and Cluster eCommerce Managers to
+ Coordinate marketing and eCommerce efforts for properties that participate in shared service
+ Lead, design, and facilitate annual marketing planning sessions

**Develop and execute communications and/or creative strategy for all segments and programs**

+ Determine appropriate budget to support communications initiatives and allocations by hotel
+ Provide efficiencies of property budgets by clustering efforts when appropriate to obtain better frequencies and marketing effectiveness
+ Manage marketing and eCommerce budget
+ Develop marketing plan which supports corporate initiatives, brand strategy, and brand identity while matching property priorities to include advertising, promotions, direct marketing, public relations and e\-commerce
+ Identify and establish relationships with potential promotional partners, including local CVBs to secure incremental marketing funds and to provide added exposure to new potential customers while providing revenue generating opportunities for focus properties and markets

**Lead facilitation/tracking and measurement of marketing programs; coordinate with Director Marketing & eCommerce \(SS & ES\) and Reporting & Analysis support**

2\) **Cross Regional Support \(Full Service brands** \)

+ Lead development and execution of cross\-regional marketing and ecommerce strategies to include promotions, advertising, direct marketing, public relations, photography, and sales support in partnership with Sr\. Director of eCommerce
+ Manage marketing and eCommerce budget for assigned initiatives
+ Develop and execute media planning strategies and coordinate with national strategy
+ Point of contact for franchise full service properties that participate in Cross Regional Programs and not property all\-in support\.
+ Provide a means to facilitate tracking and measurement of appropriate communications strategies
+ Create annual plans and actions in conjunction with Vice Presidents of Marketing & eCommerce

3\) **Establish and maintain Strategic Alliances**

+ Develop effective regional education to ensure implementation of system\-wide plans and programs
+ Author promotional proposals and property communications
+ Determine means of measurement and tracking results, analyzing and communicating results to field, regional team, and corporate, with Sr\. Manager of Reporting and Analysis
+ Maintain relations with key owner groups, AVPs, General Managers, Sales & Revenue leaders, VPSMs and other stakeholders of their geographic portfolio of hotels

4\) **Corporate Support**

+ As an extension of the corporate marketing department, attend quarterly marketing meetings, provide insight from field, assist in development and planning of corporate marketing programs and promotions for full service hotels \(managed and franchised\)
+ Utilize all marketing guidelines and standards
+ Provide a marketing and ecommerce link to corporate advertising and marketing and ecommerce on all standards and format guidelines
+ Work effectively with sales executive of segments, products and promotions, as well as brand segment vice presidents
+ Provide continuity and solicitation resource for national campaigns, promotions, strategic alliance, directory submissions, and numerous other solicitations
+ Pull through national marketing efforts

5\) **Additional Key Contributions**

+ Enhance the organization s capabilities through effective staffing and development of others; anticipate staffing requirements by comparing business needs with strengths and weaknesses of existing staff; establish goals; provide timely coaching and feedback; reward distinctions in performance
+ Responsible for overall flow of invoices from MMs to finance to be paid in timely manner\. Also responsible for development, oversight and critique of shared service budget and period results\.

**CANDIDATE PROFILE \- KEY TALENTS AND EXPERIENCE DESIRED**

**REQUIRED:**

+ Seven plus years combined experience \(regional/field sales, revenue management, marketing or relevant client marketing experience\); broad marketing leadership experience in multiple environments
+ Three of those years with proven planning, leadership, strategic and technical skills
+ Extensive expertise in media planning & buying, advertising, marketing, collateral, direct mail, pr, radio, e\-commerce, production, printing and media execution; essential knowledge of photography, production and print execution
+ Strong working knowledge of advertising agency capabilities
+ Expert knowledge of leading industry dynamics including demand drivers
+ Superior leadership skills; experience leading a team of direct reports and proven team building skills with experience in developing talent
+ Ability to interface fluidly with directors of marketing, general managers, regional team, corporate staff and franchise marketing personnel
+ Ability to offer quick analysis for decision\-making within a general context
+ Excellent administrative and organizational skills and the ability to handle many diverse projects simultaneously
+ Strategic and detail oriented, creative, energetic, and superior initiative
+ Strong relationship\-building, negotiation, and conflict management skills
+ Superior communication skills in diverse settings with many stakeholders including empathetic listening, persuasion skills, public speaking, and written communication

**EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION:**

+ College degree required
+ MBA preferred
