**JOB SUMMARY**
Marriott Rewards / The Ritz-Carlton Rewards are key programs in Marriott International’s strategy to drive stakeholder value by attracting and engaging repeat guests. Most significant among numerous member benefits is the ability to redeem Rewards points for free (redemption) nights at Marriott branded hotels. Utilizing a complex set of formulas and procedures, the Program pays (or reimburses) hotels for these free stays.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Loyalty Programs, Global Lodging Services the Manager will contribute to the management and execution of financial support to the Loyalty Programs (I.e., Marriott Rewards) ensuring the Program’s ongoing financial health and stability and enabling the achievement of the Programs’ financial goals and objectives. He / She will partner with the GLS FBP leadership team, Sales & Marketing business leaders, Marriott Business Services (MBS), IR Marketing Systems as well as the Marriott Guest Service Center (MGS), located in Salt Lake City, Utah in the execution of financial and operational business strategies and plans to support the ongoing fiscal needs and responsibilities of the Loyalty Programs.
The Manager will serve as a subject matter expert on hotel reimbursements and other financial/accounting matters related to the Loyalty Programs. He/she will provide proactive support to compile, analyze and translate data into actionable financial information for use by the Senior Manager, Loyalty Programs and will support of the Programs financial objectives for the Global Sales & Marketing team, and other key stakeholders. Specifically, the Manager will:
* Partner with the Senior Manager for maintenance and ongoing development of the Rewards Programs’ reimbursement and billing financial models, ensuring program policies are designed to align overall program costs and benefits, maintain the financial viability of the program and to meet the objectives of the Marriott Rewards, Global Sales & Marketing team.
* Using a strong working knowledge of the program infrastructure, he/she will be able to analyze the financial implications of proposed Program changes. The Manager will provide ad-hoc financial analysis as required by GLS FBP leadership, or other key stakeholders in response to requests to evaluate Owner impacts or inquiries, proposed program enhancements, tax matters or other areas of concern.
* Effectively communicate program methodologies & explanations to senior leaders in the GLS FBP organization, lodging regional teams, Owner and Franchise Services, and hotels/hotel owners. Build relationships with those leaders to help communicate Program terms and objectives.
* Partner with Sales & Marketing, the GSC, and IR Marketing Systems to develop and operationalize the appropriate reporting and financial controls related to systematic reimbursements and the Programs’ billing processes.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with Business contacts to provide guidance and/or consultation in the development and implementation of strategies to improve financial and operational performance and owner transparency.
* Provide functional and detailed support to assist in various Enterprise- and/or Program-wide initaitives.
* Provide support for the regular analysis of the Marriott Rewards charge out rates and review of the reimbursement methodology.
* Provide support, as needed, to include the timely and efficient execution of the annual audit processes that include SARBOX, Marriott Rewards standalone audit as well as the annual MI audit process.
The Manager will support departmental objectives. He/She will assist in execution of programs and enhancement of systems and processes that support key objectives to achieve the goals of these programs for Marriott and add value. He/She will therefore be adept at tapping diverse sources of information, identifying opportunities, anticipating challenges, and executing strategies to deliver against this objective.

To maximize the focus on providing accounting and financial services on a global basis to the business , Global Finance is structured as a single, global cohesive organization with three interdependent components, each with a distinct and equally important role in creating value for Marriott International: Enterprise Accounting Services (EAS) focused on operational excellence; Finance Business Partnerships focused on overall financial health and success of the business; and Centers of Expertise (COE) that focus on specialized skills and consultation.
**Finance Business Partnership(FBP)**
This division of Global Finance is focused on providing robust, pro-active financial leadership across the enterprise by ensuring the right financial focus and resources, at the right time, in order to maximize value and reduce exposure to the Company on existing assets and ventures and in the development of new projects. Partnering with senior business leadership as a key advisor to optimize total business performance, the Finance Business Partner will be responsible for financial strategy and risk mitigation, financial business and performance management, controllership, and finance human capital management for their client system. The FBPs will collaborate closely with EAS and COEs to compile, analyze, and interpret financial information needed to support the financial business and performance management of their client system
**Expected Contributions**
**Overall**
* Maintain effective administrative and program cost reporting, analysis and control processes for the Loyalty Programs and proactively identify and address hotel and program concerns. Maintain alignment of program costs & reimbursements with management agreements, as necessary. Provide accurate, compliant allocation of cost and reimbursements to participating hotels. Provide timely and accurate analyses of program costs (reimbursements) and funding (billing) to support accounting procedures and to respond to internal management, legal, owner, and audit inquiries.
* Partner with the Senior Manager to ensure that all program reimbursements are accounted for in accordance with approved policy.
* Perform ad-hoc analyses for and/or provide information to and advise, as appropriate, the Sales & Marketing FBP team, Sales & Marketing staff and other Global Finance groups on the business environment and key operating issues within the discipline.
* Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with program team and other key stakeholders to understand the business, ensure timely exchange of actionable financial information and customer satisfaction.
* Consistently identify opportunities to manage costs and improve business transparency.
* Ensure compliance with contract and reporting requirements.
* Develop partnership and become a liaison on behalf of FBP and Guest Service Center staff.
* Contribute to the organizational effectiveness of the Sales & Marketing FBP by actively seeking to improve processes and clarify work roles.
* Identify and help implement process improvement opportunities in the interfaces with other Global Finance groups.Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
**CANDIDATE PROFILE**
**Experience **
* 5 + years experience in finance and accounting processes in a global organization
* Experience in a management role; demonstrated success leading and developing a strong organization and workforce in a complex, service-intensive, deadline-driven environment.
* Experience leading and managing business initiatives and associated change.
* Experience in managing the accounting for large scale technology projects
* Lodging/hospitality industry experience strongly preferred.
* History of consistently delivering business results.
Education or Certification
* Baccalaureate degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline required.
* CPA or MBA strongly preferred
**Knowledge and Skills **
* Knowledge in GAAP, as well as Marriott specific accounting and finance processes and current ledger &reporting; systems.
